Daughters of Kirk and Spock, Resumes post 10

Porter and Kennard materialized in the transporter room and even as their forms solidified the power balance shifted.

“Welcome aboard Captain, Commander” Lt. Fairbanks welcomed them with a nod.

“Prepare to leave orbit, Ms. Fairbanks” Porter spoke as Kennard and Fairbanks fell in beside her.

    “Aye Captain” Fairbanks replied.

The journey from the transporter bay to the bridge passed in silence.  Kennard took her place at the science station relieving her second simply by her presence.

Elizabeth dropped into the command chair.  “Ms. Schechter plot a course to the Einstein Curve. Ms. Peabody request clearance to leave Romulan space.”

“Aye Captain” she replied her hands flying across the communications board. “Enterprise to Romulan Control.”

“Romulan Control” The accented voice replied in Standard.

“Enterprise requesting lane assignment to leave orbit.”

“Standby Enterprise, await clearance.” Peabody jolted in surprise at the response.  A Federation Starship did not need clearance to leave orbit.

“Patch me in” Porter swiveled in her chair to address Lt. Peabody.

“Romulan Control, this is Captain Porter of the United Federation of Planets Starship Enterprise, clarify the reason we are not cleared for immediate departure.”

“Captain Porter, Royal Consort of the Crown Princess of Rhemus, is the Princess Christina on board the Starship Enterprise?”

“She is” Porter answered warily. She resisted the urge to glance at her wife.

“Engage tractor beams” the Romulan Control Commander ordered. “While the Crown Princess and her Consort are on board Enterprise it is a Romulan vessel, Rhemus Two to be exact.”

“Tractor beams have locked onto the Enterprise” Kennard confirmed. “We are being held Captain.”

“Dana?” Porter turned to her chief engineer.

“We are a fly in paper Captain; the only way I see to disengage the beams is disable the Romulan planetary defense system.  We are not going anywhere.”

Porter was angry now.  It was one thing to insult her personally it was quite another to hold her ship hostage.  “Romulan Control, release the Enterprise immediately.”

“The Enterprise is free to go however the Princess Christina and her Royal Consort are not adequately protected and therefore are not cleared to leave Romulan space” the Control commander replied.

    1. I am definitely still interested in this story. Please, keep posting. I can honestly say that I have never been interested in Star Trek before reading this story. Now, I look forward to every new post. You’ve captivated me from the start. Don’t stop now…. pleeeeease! =)

    2. Don’t even THINK that we are not interested in the continuation of this story!!! Bite your tongue, and get to writing! (And, I hope that all is okay with what kept you from us.) Thanks Kelika

    3. K I was so happy to read your new chapter and had it as fate that the luck of the Irish had for me tonight ;) I loved how both Bette and Christina didnt let them bully them into staying or being put down, and oh my mother is not happy they don’t have protection. and as for Rachel she is evil,,,,,,loved it

    4. Ah haaaa……(jumping up and down and clapping hands!) I’m so excited to see an update to this story…I have been waiting every day for one. Interested…are you kidding….dying for you to update…what the hell happened to your little group each motivating the other for updates…I loved that! Anyway, I’m delighted you did and more than delighted at how good it was. Me thinks the plot thickens and I can’t wait for your next one Kelika!

    5. May we have more, Kelika… Please? Of course we need you to continue. You and the other writers on this site have done a great job to banish the images burnt into our memories by the final episode and replace them with somthing much more pleasant in what you’ve created in your stories. Loved how Christina and Elizabeth swatted the so called protective authority of the traitors. HA! Take That!!! Thanks for writing. PPS.

    6. Glad you came back to us. No, no one should expect the Royal Princess and her consort to behave meekly and accept whaterver is thrown at them. Not only do they hold such exalted titles, they are Starfleet officers and not to be toyd with, nor easily contained. Kelika, I’ve considered PMing you to return, but have seen such messages languish. Please don’t keep us waiting so long.

    7. Dont even think that I an not interested in your story. look for it each day. I love it because its so diferent and the Alpha women in it.We a;; lmow that Bette is beautiful and many wants herbut in this many wants Tina. thanks

    8. My heaves are a carryover from MY REACTION to Jenny from the series… I wish there was a do-over edit button for these comments. Can’t wait until Porter and Kennard “engage” again! Thanks, again!

    9. ok. i have to add my two bits here. i laughed and giggled a bit thinking how christina’s mother certainly has some spunk and humour! lovin’ this story and your posts have been missed. thank you for taking the time to share. wonderful as always and a treasure to behold. go momma kennard!!!

    10. I’m loving this story still. However, Schecter performing in any capacity for Starfleet gives me the heaves. A carryover from Jenny of the series, I’m sure I’ll get over it as the series finale fades away like a distant star. Carry on!

    11. This is my first time commenting on this story, but definitely not my first time reading one of your delightful tales. Everything Emae29 said are my sentiments exactly. My knowledge of Star Trek is limited to “Live long and prosper”. But this story has certainly kept me enthralled. Please continue.
