“Huh yah” came the reply of the captains of three hundred vessels.
“Romulan Command clear the Fleet for warp speed.”
“The Fleet is cleared Commander in Chief, warp speed to victory, Chief Commander.”
“Commander Rau, warp speed planet Vulcan.”
“Warp factor one, Chief Commander” Rau replied and the ship leapt forward.
“Best time to planet Vulcan?”
“Three point two six standard hours Chief Commander.”
Captains Log Stardate 2009, 4.4
We are in standard orbit around the planet Vulcan. A Fleet of ships one thousand strong is two point eight hours from entry into Vulcan airspace.
Commander Kennard and Chief Engineer McCutheon are monitoring the approaching vessels to learn whatever we can in the interim. Commander Kennard and Engineer McCutheon agree that the propulsion system is ion based indicating their weapons systems are as well. No matter the source of their fire power the Enterprise cannot defend a planet against one thousand ships alone. We will work to adjust the odds as much as possible in our favor. Starfleet Command advises support cannot be expected for three point two hours at which time the fate of the planet Vulcan and Enterprise may already be decided. We go communications black in one point two hours.”
“This is Vulcan Central Command” a male voice broke the silence as the cloud became visible without the need of scanners on the Enterprise central viewscreen. “Approaching Fleet, identify yourselves.”
The cloud to everyone’s surprise halted its approach.
Hera turned to her second. “It appears that they are aware of our presence.”
“Affirmative, Fleet Admiral. We are being scanned.”
“There seems no point in remaining dark and vulnerable. Raise shields.” Hera concluded with her order.
The Enterprise scanners took a moment to adjust to the sudden flooding of running lights of so many vessels in such close proximity. The filters kicked in seconds later but not quickly enough to avert the momentary blindness everyone watching the screen experienced.
Before Porter could issue the order Kennard spoke. “Adjusting filters to prevent future blinding should this event recur Captain.”
“Aye Commander” Porter said with the tiniest hint of a smile. “Open a Channel to the mystery fleet Lieutenant.”
“Channel open.”
“This is Captain Porter of the United Federation of Planet’s Starship Enterprise, please identify yourselves and state your intentions.”
Seconds later the image of a dark haired breathtakingly beautiful woman who wore the air of command appeared on the main viewscreen. “This is Fleet Admiral Hera, of the Hephaestus people, Captain Porter.” She paused as she took in the dark haired beauty who returned her appraising gaze with amusement. “We are returning home.”
Porter’s amusement faded as she answered her. “This is the planet Vulcan and you are encroaching on its sovereign air space, Fleet Admiral Hera.” The warning in her tone was unmistakable though the words polite. Porter noted the graceful pointed ears of the worlds of her wife.
“We are well aware of the name of our homeworld Captain.” Hera returned. “We look forward to sinking our feet in its soil.”
“That is a matter for Vulcan Council to determine Fleet Admiral.”
“No it is not. Our logical brothers and sisters do not have the capacity or authority to challenge our claim. Surely you do not believe that your one ship can prevent us from claiming what is ours.” Hera mocked her.

I’m always in admiration to you writers to keep your stories fresh and interesting,while trying to post often and,well…live you life…so ,again..HUGE THANKS for this great story and for contnuing the drama..I can hardly wait to see how Elizabeth & Christina will react!!

Oh Kelika…I bow down to the way you know your Greek/Roman mythology. Hephaestus people..from the Roman Vulcan and Hera the greek goddess. You pay such attention even to these little details in your story telling. You tell these chapters with all of the enthusiasm of the original episodes. Can’t wait to see what Christina and Elizabeth come up with to stave off the 1000 ships until more help arrives.

I have no idea how you develop the ideas for your story lines but I just have to say I freakin’ love ’em!!!! This confrontation should be REALLY interested…I’m certain cool Porter will find a way to assauge the beautiful Hera until the rest of the fleet arrives…

OH NO, a battle is in the air. How will Christina and Elizabeth fight off the enemy? Will the Queens, Kirk and Spock make in time to save their offspring? They better.
Why are these people returning now? What’s wrong with the place they’ve left? Ecological disaster? Someone bullied them off the planet they’d colonised? Questions, questions. I bet Porter and Kennard root out the answers. Good post. Thanks

OH ANOTHER attractive woman appears…in the meantime Rau protects Rhaina but does Rau know she’s in-love with the Queen and vice versa…and pointy ears Hera what’s her game? and what will our intrepid heroes do to save Vulcan? oh so many questions, I am absolutely intrigued.
Kelika, this story gets more interesting everytime you post. You have a most interesting mind the way you conjur up all the characters from mythology and Star Trek and interweave them all. Just wonderful. Can hardly wait to see what Bette, Christina, and the Queens do to turn these people around and get them out of their lives. You have one hell of a story going here and I love every word of it. Post when you can.
Hephaestus is to Vulcan as Zeus is to Jupiter. I wonder if the Vulcans remember their long lost cousins let alone welcome them to the family homestead. I also wonder what broke the family up in the first place.
