Don’t Say a Thing – Sequel to Falling At Your Feet – Ch 2

It was indeed packed. She was already panicking, how the hell would she find Shane? She looked around and was amazed. This place had changed a lot and it was just beautiful. There was other furniture and all the walls had been painted. The atmosphere was more trendy, but still as inviting as it used to be. She glanced over to the counter, where she saw a familiar figure. She couldn’t put a name on the girl, tough. She went closer, to have a better look, but still had no idea.

The girl’s black hair was tied down in a ponytail. She looked up and Bette saw the most chrystal blue eyes ever. The girl instantly recognised Bette.

“That can’t be you, Bette Porter!” she exlaimed. She saw the look on Bette’s face and told the woman her name. “I’m Julie, Julie Rivers from down the street! Don’t you remember?”

“Oh my god!” Bette gasped. “The last time I saw you, you were seven!”

“Wow, Bette… I can’t believe this! You’ve been away for so long! You look incredible!”

“Seventeen years,” Bette nodded. “Thanks, you look fabulous as well. Look, we’ll catch up later, but I’m meeting Shane here and I see you’ve got a lot of customers that are waiting to be served.”

“Great,” Julie winked. This shortly confused Bette – she would have sworn it was a flirtatious wink had it come from someone else. There was actually nothing to catch up about – it was not like Bette and Julie hung out together, with their age difference of eleven years.

She scanned the café for Shane and finally found the slim brunette. To her surprise, she wasn’t sitting alone at a table. Dana and Alice were joining her. Bette frowned – she had asked to meet Shane alone. She bit her lip, a thought flashing through her for a second. She narrowed her eyes to slits to get a better look – would she? – no, Tina wasn’t there. Bette didn’t know if she was relieved not to be confronted with her yet or disappointed because of that same reason.

She made her way to the table. Suddenly, Shane saw Bette as well. She stoop up and cried out: “Bette freaking Porter!”

    3. I wonder if Tina received any of Bette’s letters. I know she was heartbroken when she left, but why didn’t she ever write back? It’s so sad that Tina has lost her glow…I hope Bette knows how to restore it!

    4. Hi Genner! This is gonna be a wonderful story. I love the reconciliations. Can’t wait for the next part. Post Soon Please! :)I already love this.

    5. Hey Genner, Great meeting between the gang. Giving some of Bette’s reaseons for staying away for so long and now having the courage to return were insightful. It will be interesting to read what happens next. Bette and Tina are two havles of the same soul and have a connection that cannot be denied. They both have grown up a lot in the years apart but will togetherness re-ignite the flame… I do hope so. Tina may be a mom but her heart belongs to one Bette Porter. And the same is true for Bette, Tina keeps her most precious organ beating. More please. Many thanks for this wonderful writing. Your Loyal Fan.
