    Hmm – do you even remember the story? Bette and Tina try to figure out what comes next, while Alice and Dana sort of have to do the same.

    “WOULD YOU TWO STOP TALKING ABOUT ME LIKE I’M NOT HERE!! I’M SITTING IN THE DAMN ROOM WITH YOU!!”

     

    “Whoa, Dane, chill. Sorry.” Shane

     

    Dana looked over to Alice, waiting for her to speak. “What? You just said you’re in the room. Go on, tell her.”

     

    “What suddenly you don’t want to talk about our lives to people? That’s new.” Dana quipped.

     

    “What the ***** is wrong with you?”

     

    Dana turned away from Alice, “I’m sorry. I’m just scared. OK. I just want to pretend this isn’t happening.”

     

    Alice got up and walked to Dana. She gently placed her hand on Dana’s shoulder. “Babe, you know we can’t do that.” She whispered as leaned in to Dana’s ear. “You know Shane is the one you want on your side. If you don’t want to talk to anyone else, that’s fine. But baby, I leave tomorrow. I need to know you’ll be ok and someone will be looking after you.”

     

    Dana humbly looked up at Alice, barely able to meet her gaze. Feeling so much guilt and feeling so much sadness. “Alright.”

     

    They sat down on the couch together, Alice tenderly holding Dana, supporting her and they told Shane what was going on. Shane felt the anger rise in her. She knew the anger covered the fear. But she was handy that way. Until there was nothing left to fear, the anger would win and she would make sure Dana and Alice were ok. That she knew.

     

    Chapter 26

     

    After a couple of hours of discussion it was decided that Alice would still go to DC. Shane wasn’t sure if it was the best idea, but Dana was insistent that Alice do what she needed to for her job. She already felt bad enough about all that is happening, she didn’t want to add to the burdens in Alice’s life. She really did feel better now that Shane and Alice knew what was going on, there was a pressure removed from her, but she also knew that it wasn’t go to be as simple as Shane and Alice seemed to think it was. The only discussion still on the table was the police. Dana refused to go to them. Alice and Shane thought she was being more than a little short sided.

    2. Lucia. I wish Showtime gave Tibette the depth and exploration you do– i might CARE about their relationship, as i do here. I hate this– you’ve got me rooting for Julia, AND Bette. i’ll be sad either way. :/ so good for you. as for your dana and alice- you have a great ear for them. i love this story. post soon!

    4. I don’t think it matters if you are writing Dana and Alice or Bette and Tina, or someone else all together…please just keep writing. Your story telling strikes a chord with me. Inventive, fresh and highly entertaining.

    6. I am totally thinking of 101 things Dana’s secret can be and i am comin up with all kinds of nonsence so pls pls update soon and tell all…the suspence is great tho. I am also sooo rooting for T and julia.

    9. lucia – i grew up on neil diamond with my dad playing his cds on repeat. i love the song choices. i am so glad that dana and alice are finding their way back to one another after all this time… but still anxious for what lies ahead. great job. post soon.

But the chapter was worth the wait, I actually felt for Bette and Tina though I’m still rooting for Julia. Cmon, tell me what you want so you can post the next chapter.
