Previously…

After a few minutes, for reasons
unknown to her but she did it anyway, Alice opened her eyes and, in
doing so, caught a glimpse of her living room where the television had
automatically turned on.



She raised her eyebrows in surprise
and realization and exclaimed out loud in a voice that tried to sound
less laboured but more exuberant, “Oh, yes!”

Hearing the change in the tone of Alice’s voice, Dana leaned her head
back so she could look at her. Still somewhat recovering from their
previous activity, the blonde had a look of tired glee on her face and
said “It’s on!” She gave the brunette a light kiss on the lips and,
hastily zipping up her jeans so she could walk, Alice squirmed
delicately out of Dana’s grasp to hop joyfully into the living room,
urging her to follow. “It’s on! It’s on!”

Dana scoffed lightly and said, somewhat whiney, “Of course it’s on, Al. It’s been on
since we sat down to have brunch.” She was thrown off by Alice’s sudden
change in moods but still unable to help from smiling to herself at
seeing her girlfriend’s evident, even though mysterious, delight. Dana
plopped down onto the couch and Alice was beside her instantly, more
than eager to cuddle. The return of physical contact with the blonde
was enough to alleviate Dana’s whining, for now. “So what’s on,
anyway?” Dana asked, putting an arm around her shoulders and gesturing
at the television.

Alice chuckled and babbled an answer, “Gilmore girls! It is THE best
teeny-bopper show, ever! I’m usually at work when it’s on, so I have to
record it, and, believe me, it is just not the same. Ooh! What a treat!
I can watch it in its regular time.” She had her feet propped up on the
coffee table. As they watched the opening scene, Dana nearly dropped on
the floor laughing when she saw Alice wiggling her toes in excitement.

“What’s he collecting?” Dana asked Alice, who had her eyes so
transfixed to the TV screen, she didn’t even turn her head to answer
Dana’s question.

“‘Kay, that guy with the blue hat is Luke… he and this girl, Lorelai,
were a couple. When they just started going out, there was actually a
town meeting about their relationship… about how, if they ever break
up, the town would be split between sides. And, eventually they did
breakup, so hahaha, the townspeople actually started wearing ribbons.
If you wore a pink ribbon, it meant you were on Lorelai’s side. Or a
blue ribbon and you’d be on Luke’s. But now, see… they got back
together, and this guy, Kirk, is trying to collect them.”
