Even in the quietest moments Chapter 4
Bette was pissed. Even though she was familiar with how the game was played she preferred being played on her own terms. Phyllis, the president of CU, apologetically informed Bette that there was a potential donor who insisted that the only way to seal the deal was dinner with the new Dean of the School of Art. Bette absently stirred her martini unaware that the anger she felt was written all over her face.
Rosanna Montclair surveyed the lobby bar wondering if she could pick out her dinner companion based on reputation alone. As she scanned the bar her attention was drawn to the slender curly haired brunette that exuded confidence and sensuality. She allowed her gaze to travel over the woman and was pleased by the full breasts that seemed to strain beneath a sliver vest that was visible under the black suit jacket.
Their eyes met across the crowded lobby bar. The brunette accurately recognized that she was being cruised and sat back in her chair while allowing her eyes to travel over Rosanna in a similar fashion. Without breaking eye contact with the brunette Rosanna made her way over to her, stopping just inside the brunette’s personal space.
“Bette Porter, I presume?” She extended a hand, which the brunette took not betraying any surprise that the blue eyed chestnut haired beauty knew her name. “Rosanna Montclair.”
“A pleasure” Bette responded smoothly flashing a trademark Porter smile, while taking the proffered hand. Bette relaxed instantly, the donor dinner from hell that she was anticipating suddenly did not feel like penance at all. “Would you like to join me in a cocktail or go right in for dinner?”
“Most definitely a cocktail first” Rosanna replied while taking a seat to Bette’s left that was empty. “I prefer my dinner companion’s to look as if they are actually happy to be dining with me.”
“Excuse me.” Bette responded not understanding Rosanna’s comment.
“Well when I first saw you across the room you looked like you had a date with the guillotine and I’d hate for anyone to assume that I caused the anger and dread that was on your face. I figure if we have a drink first I can erase that look and we can go into dinner with my dignity intact.” Rosanna explained in a friendly teasing manner.

NICE START! PLEASE CONTINUE SEE WHERE IT LEADS US.I AGREE THE AUTHUOURS DONT POST FAST ENOUGH OR OFFEN ENOUGH.. BUT THATS LIFE BABE.P.P.S.
I really liked this …now that you wrote this you have to post faster also…lol. I get impatient sometimes too when I am hitting that refresh screen eagerly waiting for my favorite authors to pop up(skipton)but then I think I shouldn’t put pressure on them (Tibette99) cause they lead very busy lives(chasemenow) and they have obligations(belena) and we should just be patient(Lamentamini) cause I am sure they are thinking of us(TMerlin) and will post as soon as they can(Draemi). So I just sit back and patiently wait.
This story has promise. Different than the others, I likey. PPS.
Good chapter and can’t wait to see more, thanks!
Great post, thanks! LOL@ sky’s comment… And I have to say, I do the same thing. I get hooked on the site… and writing, actually. Started and couldn’t stop… tragic.

aaaaawwwwww u traitor…..where r u going with this…hurry up then
Hey Kelika, Good to see that Bette is starting to move on and get out there. The vibe between Bette and Rosanna was one of promise. These gals could be hot together. Maybe seeing the revitalized and reborn Bette on the hunt will make Tina admit what she knows she threw away. Jealousy is always an interesting emotion. Can’t wait to see where this leads. Much gratitude from Your Fan.
