    Bette tells Tina a story and does she have sixth sense?

    Thirty six hours later I delivered one and six hours after that the other.

    Ouch.

    By the time that I delivered Michael the anaesthetic had run out and I was so ready to get that kid out that if I had been able to get my hands on a scalpel I would have cut him out myself.

    That was a pretty picture that Bette painted.

    She broke my hand, Shane interjected with carrying two mugs of coffee over with her setting them down on the table

    I was in labor for forty two hours pushing out your children. The least you can do is not whine about the fact that I broke your hand.

    Oh I dont whine about it. I wore that cast with pride, Shane said smiling and touching Bette on the side of the neck, I told people that you broke my hand in a kinky ***** game that got out of control.
    Tina choked on her coffee at hearing this.

    Are you okay Tina, Bette asks with a small smile

    Yeah, Tina coughs, Just went down the wrong way is all. People believed you when you said this, she asked of Shane

    Shane nodded her head, They did at that. Probably has something to do with B being a karate master.

    Youre a karate master, Tina asked with some surprise

    Yes.

    I was very appreciative of the fact that you were in labor for forty two hours pushing out my children, Shane stated, And I shall forever be grateful for it.

    Bette smiled at this, Good.

    Millie, Shane stated in a sing-song voice, Come to momma.

    Millie got to her feet and started wagging her tail excitedly. Tina watched with some interest. This was the most hyper she had seen this dog.

    Do you have to go, Shane asked Millie in an ever serious tone

    Millie barked once.

    Number one or number two?

    Two barks.

    Ew, you shouldnt have told me that.

    Bette laughed at this, Youre the one that asked.

    So I did. Come on my pretty petunia Ill take you to do your business.

    Shane disappeared through the crowd with Millie hot on her heels.

    That has to be the cutest thing that Ive ever seen.

    It is pretty cute.
    How long have you had Millie?

    Seven years.

    Thats a while.

    Ive had one dog before her. I got Trix when I was twenty-three years old. Had her for ten years before we had to put her down.

    Im sorry Bette.

    Thank you Tina, Bette clapped her hands, My this conversation has gone to a morbid place. Have you ever been in a long term relationship, asked Bette moving on to what she hoped was a safer topic

    Nothing lasting more than three months, Tina explained, Youve got me beat by a very wide margin.

    I just got lucky, shrugged Bette, You just need to find that right person.

    Tina took Bettes hand into her own, Perhaps I have.

    Bette raised an eyebrow at this and smiled, Perhaps indeed.
