    Family Sunday

    “I was thinking…”

    Bette paused.

“What were you thinking?” Tina encouraged her to continue.

“I wanted to see what would happen if we spent more time together,” Bette said shyly.

Tina smiled. Bette couldn’t help but to smile too.

“So, are you saying you want to date me?”

“Yeah, I think I am saying that.”

This time Bette was rewarded with Tina’s chin dimples.

“What’s the goal of us spending more time together on these…dates?” Tina blinked.

    Bette’s insides jumped.

“To see if my heart can forgive you.”

    “I broke your heart?”

    “You shattered it.”

Tina started to reach out and place her hand on Bette’s chest but she dropped it at the last minute. Bette had to make the first move.

    Tina nodded.

“I know. I shattered mine too.”

Tina looked at their bare feet. So close but not touching. She wanted to feel any part of Bette against any part of her. She wiggled her toes.

“The other goal is to see if your heart can forgive me.”

    Tina’s eyes flashed up.

“There’s nothing to forgive. I’m the one who broke us.”

“Yes, that’s true. But I haven’t been the kindest. Kit, Shane and Alice have all pointed out what an ass I’ve been to you. And Dana told me to get the fuck over myself.”

    “I deserved it.”

“You didn’t deserve that. I shouldn’t have treated you that way.”

    “You were hurt.”

“That is not an excuse. I was hideous. I wanted to hurt you like you hurt me.”

    “I understand. I always understood.”

“It still doesn’t make it okay.”

They were quiet. There was laughter coming from the other room. They looked in that direction. Both grasping the magnitude of the moment. They both turned back and looked at each other at the same time.

“So, what does us dating look like?” Tina asked.

“I don’t quite know. All I know is I haven’t stopped thinking about you since KiKi’s opening.”

“Do you remember the beginning of us?”

    Bette nodded.

    “Of course, I do.”

“You were so patient with me.”

“It was the most excruciating 41 days of my life. But I needed you to be sure.”

“Not feeling pressured by what was obviously happening between us really meant a lot to me. I want to give that to you.”

    1. Great chapter!

Bette and AJ and together with Tina, he is so smart and adorable! Very clever from him to let them join him in the pool.

Bette is ready to try to rebuild their relationship and Tina comes with that line, “Things that will most likely break your heart…some more.”. But they have to make a clean start and this is necessary to put everything out and then away to never come back.

I’m sad the end is coming but also looking forward to the next chapter.

      • Thank you so much! I’ll be tackling a GenQ storyline when I’m done with this one. This my first attempt at fanfic and it has been such a privilege writing this story. When it’s all done, I’ll go back and read it from start to finish to see what I could’ve done better.

Bette is ready to rebuild but she’s also nervous. She portrays alpha but we know she’s fragile. So I’m excited to see how Tina navigates her fragility and how Bette hopefully starts to forgive her. But I don’t know. We shall see.

Next chapter is going to be a doozy for sure!

AJ is my absolute favorite. I kinda wish I wrote him as an orphan or something. I love the way Bette and AJ interact.

        • You are a great writer, your writing style is really good, don’t think you have to change anything. I especially love how you write their inner thoughts. The story flows and keeps you wanting more.

I adore AJ, maybe you can add him in your new story. Bette doing something for a orphan house, they meet and Bette and him bond immediately and Bette wants to adopt him, giving him the warm and loving home he deserves. I am adopted and it would be so great to read something like that. But whatever you’re new story will be about, i will certainly read it!
