Chapter 22
As the evening went on, I watched my ex-lover and current best friend Carmen, and noted she was back to flirting heavily with Shane. I had to admit they were kind of cute together, odd but cute. Shane was quite doting on Carmen and Carmen led her around like a puppy dog. Shane was definitely in heat and sniffing hard, trying to get back into Carmen’s thongs.
Everyone seemed to be paired off or otherwise occupied, so I took myself to the kitchen to assist Lara. I didn’t know what team she batted on but it that point, it was either helping and getting to know Lara or continuing to pretend I was interested in the conversation of Bette, Tina and Wendy. I was thinking that Bette was “out” of the crowd scene but the group dynamics tonight showed me I was the one that was out. I wondered if she kept my confessions to herself or did she let it slip in her dinner meetings with Tina. I began to feel slightly agitated in this dinner party and began to long for the safety of my apartment. I excused myself and made my way into the kitchen to offer my assistance.
Lara was busy slicing, dicing, chopping and tossing all sorts of ingredients to make our dinner. She was working on a Salmon dish with wild rice, a duck breast with salad, and a grilled lamb with couscous. The aromas emanating from the kitchen were wonderful. I studied Lara, who was quite cute in her apron, with her hair tied back but still flying in different directions. She had some tell tale signs around her lips of her sampling of her food. The kitchen was definitely top class gourmet. She didn’t seem to know I was there until I asked, “Did this kitchen motivate you to begin cooking?”
She startled then smiled, “Hi! Helena! Yes, partly. My father is owner and chef of ‘Le Petite Maison’. He would try out recipes here before he took it to the restaurant. I got into helping him as he worked through the meals. I guess I just inherited it naturally from him. He didn’t want me to go into the restaurant business, so off to medical school I went. Don’t get me wrong, I love what I do in medicine, but I suppose this is my passion.”

S dang girl you are on a roll with two chappies for one night and I like it :-) I like reading/seeing thru the eyes of Helena because she see’s things as they are IMO and so does Carmen. As for Bette I am thinking she is not in a happy place with Rick and I think it will soon show up in conversation with Helena.
I hate it when a spouse or partner or B/F, G/F taps on their watch like a petulant child as if they are being held up from a very important date. Bette needs to kick Rick to the curb. And join Helena in some Sapphic calisthenics. Those two fill out spandex like no one else (except maybe Tina) on TLW. Excellent as usual.
Oh Squirly…you spoil us…I liked the posting…okay, I loved the B and H time together…ahhhh…and I like this contemplative H…horny she may be, but she appears to be thinking…that’s good!! Yeah, Rick seems like an ass…I’ll bet she’s dating him to satisfy her Pops…and that Tina is something else…LOL…looking forward to the next post…hope this is even a heavier dose of B and H, but I won’t push it…Cheers!!!
Great update! If I remember correctly Bette had spoke about Helena to Rick. And maybe he has found out that she’s gay. And it may make him a little nervous about her being around his girlfriend. Since it seems they are not as happy as they should be. Plus I think dear old Daddy Porter played a big part in this arrangement. I think that Bette wants to please her father. Helena needs to go over there and get her woman. Yeah I said it, and I’m sticking by it. Let Rick find another trophy wife. I believe that one is taken. By the way I love this update.
Wow! That party seemed pretty boring maybe Helena could of had more fun if she stayed home and entertained herself with her five finger technique. Bette’s kinda weird. I never could get comfortable with people like her….two personalities….one for work and another for play. She comes off seeming creepy and fake. That dinner party made me wish that Helena would go off and find someone outside of work because nobody seemed real. To bad Dana is sick because I think she and Alice would have liven things up. Carmen the ho needs to go. I’ve tired of her chapters ago. She just seems like she wants someone to lust after her. Is Bette really that into fitness or is “lets work out together” a code for I want to fuck you and how many chicks have she doggie styled with that line? This enquiring mind would like to know. Hmmmmmm, now I’m thinking maybe I should used that.
I wish for Hels to find something special in life she is looking for. This run should be a fun morning for us all. Loved the updates youre doing a great job. Maybe I should write more… I do need to wrap up some loose ends and then disappear into the night.
Here I am! That head cold turned out to be the ass kicking flu. But at least I’m not made of lead any more. OK, so what is Bette’s deal? And why is Rick such a dick? Watch tapping, c’mon, is that any way for a grown man to act? I was thinking Tina was the group’s dirty bisexual, but after Helena’s horny stream of consciousness, I’m thinking she might give her a run for the money. Although maybe not in a triathlon. Maybe Helena just is putting too much pressure on herself to ‘couple up’ when she hasn’t found the right partner. Not that that means she’s got to be all slutty, just not pressure herself and another to be FOREVER before they’ve even got today figured out.
Of course Bette hasn’t forgotten a single word that was spoken between them because she can’t stop thinking about the lovely Helena. My theory is that she has been acting cold and distant because she doesn’t know what to do with the feelings she is experiencing when she allows herself to be vulnerable with Helena. It all fits. She puts up a wall to resist her the emotional pull but sometimes she can’t help herself…that’s why the Rickster is getting a little irritated. He knows he’s not getting the same action at home as ole Henry is…How am I doing, Squirl? So, I hope the next post is their exercise meeting…you have me hanging by my fingernails… Oh, and the stranger…I thought that she was planning on heading to the bar to pick up a one-nighter…i.e. stranger hook-up. She so doesn’t need to be playing the field right now.
Great update! Oui and you bought in Marina and Tim for our favorite little psychotic waif! I know before Jenny’s…umm “artistic” ability was a pull for Marina…What the L is it this time? lol! Looking forward to their workout date! PPS…BEFORE SATURDAY! :P
