Saturday morning rolled around quickly and Tinas alarm sounded at 7am. The sun was just rising above the houses and Tina was excited about the surprise she had in store for Bette, even if Bette wasnt.

Tina decided to let the secret of Bettes go. She trusted Bette and had confidence that Bette would tell her when the time was right. Right now she just wanted to concentrate on Bettes surprise.

Tina got quietly out of bed, showered and got dressed in a pair of fitted jeans and a crisp white t-shirt. She snuck into the kitchen and whipped up some scrambled eggs on toast and freshly squeezed a glass of orange juice, placing it on a tray, making her way back to the bedroom.

Tina entered the bedroom with the breakfast tray to find a still peacefully sleeping Bette. Tina gently placed the tray down and leant over and grazed a soft kiss over Bettes lips. Bette still didnt move; she was in a deep sleep. Tina spoke barely above a whisper in Bettes ear, Babe, time to wake up, weve got a big day ahead.

Bette still didnt stir. Tina had no choice. She jumped on Bette and started tickling her, laughing, Sorry babe, this is the only way I could wake you; come on, its time to GET UP!!

The tickling woke Bette up instantly. Bette playfully managed to grab Tinas wrists and stop the onslaught that Tina had started, groggily asking, God babywhat time is it? (looking over at the clock) Why must we be awake at this time of the morning? It is the weekend you know Tee. pulling Tina into her, cuddling into her body, trying to drift back off to sleep.

Tina got up out of Bettes embrace, pulling Bettes arms in an attempt to get her up, Nocome on babe, your surprise remember? Tinas words just sunk in. ***** I forgot about the surprise, I was too busy worrying about Tinas. Bette realized.

Tina noticed the look in Bettes eyes and knew that she had forgotten. Tina was really disappointed but decided to let it go for nowshe didnt want it to spoil the day; she had plans!!! Bette was now widely awake and acutely aware of the disappointment in Tinas eyes.

Bette stood up out of bed, closing the distance between her and Tina, enveloping her in a warm hug, Im so sorry baby, I just got caught up in everything else. Im going to go get ready and I would love for you to show me your surprise.

Bettes genuine enthusiasm was beginning to surface. Tina could see this and smiled Ok but hurry up babe!!

Bette looked at Tina suggestively, I dont suppose I could interest you in a shower, Tee?

Tina: (laughing) Ive already had one, and besides we got to be out of here in 20 minutes babe, I dont think wed make it if we showered together!! Tina swatted Bette on the *****, Now hurry up Porter and get that ***** ***** of yours ready.

Bette: (whining) Why do we have to go so early Tee? Where are we going?

Tina: (smiling in satisfaction) Ahh. so now youre interested babe, youre going to have to wait and see. Bette walked into the bathroom, Tina called out, And dress casual babe.

Bette took a quick shower; dressing in a pair of black fitted jeans and a blue wife beater, they ate breakfast hurriedly and were out the door 20 minutes later. Tina was driving and Bette had no idea where they were going. Bette was actually starting to get excited about Tina giving her this little surprise, whatever it was!!

Bette: (staring lovingly at Tina) Ok Tee, can you tell me now where we are going? taking Tinas hand placing it on her thigh under her own palm.

Tina: Sorry babe not till we get there.

About 15 minutes later Tina pulled up at a huge black gate, outside a large white mansion. Bette looked at Tina quizzically. Tina smiled and pressed the intercom button.

Intercom man: Yes, can I help you?

Tina: Chief Tina Kennard to see Mr. Charles Chase

Bette glared at Tina as soon as she said his name.

Intercom man: Sure, yes Chief Kennard, Mr. Chase is expecting you.

The intercom buzzed and the huge black gate opened. Bette was just staring at Tina in disbelief. As they were driving in Bette was feeling a little overwhelmed, (surprised, excited) Tee, are we atis this who I think it is?(Tina nodded) what howwhen….what are we doing here? Charles Chase wouldnt even meet with me. He is the most talented contemporary expressionist, whose work I have had the pleasure of viewing, ever!!! Did you know that Tina??

Tina pulled the car up out the front of the perfectly presented home and looked into Bettes eyes, taking her hands, grinning at the expression on Bettes face, Surprise babe. Seems Mr. Charles Chase had a bit of an accidental fire a few weeks ago, at a warehouse he was working out of. I attended, and we got to talk. Richard and I actually saved a whole lot of his work. I realized who he was, so I casually mentioned you were my girlfriendHe had heard of you babe, (Tina said proudly nodding) anyway I asked him why he wouldnt meet with youand you know whathe wasnt even aware of your request, his agent didnt inform him so I told him Id arrange a casual meeting, therefore the attire. He was more than happy to oblige. The rest is up to you babe. I told him you were the best I love you Bette Porter, now go inside and get your show!!!

Bettes eyes lit up, (excitedly) Is this for real baby? Oh my god. I love you too Tee. I cant believe you did this for me!!!! Do you know what this could mean for mefor us?

Bette leaned over and gave Tina a passionate kiss, before getting out the car.

Bette was in awe, thinking, Tina has done it again. Got me to fall in love with her even more. if that is even possible.

Tina: (grinning, happy with herself, for putting that look on Bettes face) Well babe. Ill be about an hour, you go chat and Ill come back and get youGood luck babehe wont be able to resist the Porter charm.

Bette: (full of love) Thank you babyThank you so much.

Tina gave Bette a quick kiss for luck then drove out the driveway.

Bette talked to Charles Chase and as Tina had expected, the Porter charm could not be resisted. Bette got him to agree to do a show in the fall. The first and only showing, in L.A.

Tina returned an hour later and after a few quick pleasantries with Charles, Tina and Bette were on their way home, grabbing some lunch on the way

Bette was still in awe, looking lovingly, longingly at Tina, Baby. I cant believe you did that for me.. Wow thank you.

Tina looked at Bette with the same look, Youre very welcome babe. Now lets skip lunch and get you home and you can thank me properly??? (winking)

Bette: (sexily) Itd be my pleasure Tee.

Tina got them home as quickly as the speed limits would allow. She was acutely aware of Bette staring lustfully at her all the way home. Tina was finding it extremely difficult to concentrate on what she was doing. Bette was looking up and down Tinas body with unmistakable want in her eyes. Tina had only glanced over a few times and could see the heat generated in Bettes stare.

Bette desperately wanted to touch Tina but decided she would tease Tina a little, (casually, winding down the car window) Baby, is it getting hot in here?

Tina resigned to the fact they were going out, (grinning) Ok babe, but when we get home.watch out! Now what was that about a shower?

They took a shower, and after one of the longest showers in history, the two women reemerged.

They both dress for dinner. Bette opted for a classic black fitted suit with a white pinstripe shirt, the top 4 buttons undone. Tina on the other hand had Bette practically drooling; she wore a deep red, satin dress that was cut just above the knee; it was backless with no sleeves and fitted all of Tinas curves perfectly; with matching red, 2 inch heeled sandals, Tina was a vision. She wore her hair down, flowing freely in soft natural curls.

Bette: Wow. Baby you look..amazing. Bette went over and embraced Tina, kissing her firmly, sweetly on the lips, letting her tongue just graze Tinas bottom lip. Bette broke away before she got.. carried away.

Bette: Ok baby, are we ready. Lets go. Both women grabbed their handbags and were finally out the door at 6:45pm.

Perfect Bette whispered quietly to herself, whilst starting her ignition.

Tina: Ok babe, where are we going for dinner?

Bette took Tinas hand, Youll see Tee; Its not very far.

Bette pulled the car up outside the Hilton at 5 past 7.

Bette got out, handed the keys to the valet and ran around to open the door for Tina. Bette took Tinas arm in hers and she led Tina into the hotel, to the awaiting adoration of her family, friends and peers.

Bette opened the door to the conference room. It was initially dark and Tina looked at Bette in confusion. Bette couldnt help but smile at Tinas reaction, and before she knew it the light illuminated the room and a crowd of approx. 100 people all stood in unison and clapped as Tina walked into the room.

At first Tina didnt understand. but then she saw the podium and the sign at the back Congratulations Chief Christina Kennard, for total selflessness and courage under extreme circumstances.

Tinas face slowly lit up in a huge grin and she turned around looking speechlessly at Bette. Tina gave Bette a knowing look and Bette just smiled and clapped along with everyone else. Tina mouthed the words, I love you to Bette, and continued to walk into the room, greeting all the guests.

All her friends, family and colleagues were there. Tina felt overwhelmed!!! She was so happy nothing could wipe the smile off her face..well almost nothing. Tina worked her way around the room, eventually her mum came into view and Oh my god!!! Who is that with mum?? Cant be? Tina spotted the guest her mum Nancy had brought along.

Bette, who had been following along behind Tina, noticed the change in her demeanor, Are you Ok tee?

Tina didnt hear Bette she just stopped, and intently stared at her mum with the familiar guest she had decided to bring.

Tina. Bette yelled over the clapping.

Oh ***** was all Tina could say before she was out cold falling to the floor
