The night before the wedding was surreal. That was the only way that Shane could frame it. There was the call suggesting that Bette may have been drugged and then the mad dash to the beach. Tina was all over Jodi punching her and kicking her and screaming at her by the time she arrived on the scene.
“She’s pregnant you asshole…” Tina had screamed in her rage. Pregnant…Bette was pregnant. Jodi had tried to drug her. Shane had sunk slowly to the ground unable to take in all the events happening at one time. Tom, Kit and Max arrived and Tom pulled Tina off Jodie, something no of the rest of them were not able to move to do.
“Tom, I would suggest that you take your hands off my fiancée.” Bette said with deadly calm.
Tom still reeling from witnessing Tina out of control and Jodie her helpless victim while the group stood around and did nothing was astounding.
“Take you hands off her now or I will rip you apart” Bette repeated more forcefully this time. “T, be still, its over.” She locked gazes with the blonde. Tina once released moved to Bette. She was not yet able to think rationally she only knew that she had to protect Bette and their baby. If she did not move Bette would come for her and the baby could again be in danger.
“You can’t have another child for her” Jodi sobbed looking at Bette. Bette was moved with compassion, she saw in that moment that the Jodi that she had known was lost. This broken woman was insane. There was no reasoning with her. All Bette’s anger drained away, all she felt was pity. Did she reduce her to this? She bore the guilt of so many things and now Jodie unraveling?
Bette signaled Kit who came instantly to her side. “Please hold on to Tina while I talk with Jodie for a minute.”
“No” they both answered.
“Stay near” she kissed Tina tenderly, “I want you to hear this.” Tina’s resistance melted at Bette’s touch.
“Jodie?”
“Bette?”
“I am so sorry that I hurt you. I am so sorry that it didn’t work out between us. You need help to get through this.”
“I need you” Jodie looked at her with such expectation that Bette’s heart broke.
“I can’t give you the help you need” Bette replied sadly. “You need a special doctor and a counselor to get you back on track.”
Jodie looked at her and some part of her responded to the continued caring. “When I get better…”
“When you get better you need to move on. I can’t be there for you. It’s too hard for both of us.”
Jodie looked down then. “It’s because of her.” The anger returned as she locked gazes with Tina.
“It’s because of us. I am not good for you. I can’t give you what you need and you can’t give me what I need.” Jodie refocused and listened. “I am not going to see you again, ever. I am going to Court to make sure that you never come near me or Tina again. Even though I will never see you again I will always care about you and wish the best things for you. Do you understand?”
“Yes.”
“Jodie, I will lock you up and press charges if you ever try to come near Tina or me again.”
Jodie shifted on the sand and looked at Bette one last time. It was almost as if she stepped through a door and the other Jodie took over. “Hot fuck no one can fuck you hotter.”
Bette did not reply. She simply walked away.
Tina stood stunned with the rest of the gang. She had no idea how sick Jodie had become. She almost felt bad for kicking her ass. Almost. Sick or no Jodie had put Bette and their baby in danger and she would do anything to protect them from anything or anyone.
Kit restrained her as moved to go after Bette.
“If you think you or anyone else is going to keep me from Bette right now you are going to have to kill me” Tina hissed.
Kit let her go.
“I will wait here for the police” Susan announced. “Ms. Lerner is not going anywhere until they take her.”

awesome job on making the scene believable. i would have loved to see tina kick jodie’s ass after the hammer event,lol! jodie is totally nuts. hopefully jodie won’t press charges on tina for assault! :)PPS

Somebody ought to kick Shane’s ass for bringing Jodie to the wedding.
She jodie ha s tryed to do everything to hurt Bette, So Tina should be angry, She was trying to protect her love ones. I would have become angry also. Hate to see people fighting like street gangs to protect come very naturally Jodie needs help and now maybe she will get it thanks

AWESOME chapter, I disagree with ld18, they need to talk to Shane to see what is going on with her. This was so un-yoda of Shane, she really needs support and dealing with her situation and feelings for Jenny. PPS :o).
Please Kelika…may we have some more? OMG, look at me…I have been reduced to begging. This is a fantastic story and this last chapter is putting the cherry on top. I hope you will post tomorrow…I’m dying here!

Happy that Bette told Tom to take his hands off Tina, he should have tackled Jodi. Surely he knows how crazy she is, he’s around her more than anyone else. Shane needs a bit of counseling herself. Tina did what she should have done to protect her wife and child, no court in the land would prosecute her. Jodi is one sick puppy and some of the others should have stayed with Suzan to help corral Jodi until the police arrive. Jodi will have to be locked up for awhile she will not leave them alone, her last statement was testament to that fact. She thinks she is right and that will always be in the back of her mind no matter how clear she may seem to be after hospitalization. That thought will always be there and she will be a timebomb waiting to go off. That is the nature of the mentally ill especially when a person has been scorned in their mind. Being attached to the court, I’ve seen it too many times. She will always be a danger to them and she will always need to be watched because of it. Fantastic chapter Kelika, you’ve done a wonderful job as always. post when you can.
yeah…well…violence sux…but so does Jodi and what she tried to do…Bette can’t feel guilty; she is not responsible for Jodi’s split!!!! go afta her Tina and love her. Thx for the shout out. Love the story. pps.

I’m glad someone finally said something to Tom about him taking his hands off Tina. Man Jodi is way out in La La Land or somewhere, she has gone totally bonkers. I hope if she even says Bette’s name again Tina kicks her ass again. Poor Shane I hope she is able to to come back into the inner circle again , after an apropriate apoligy of course. PPASAYC
Hey Beach, they are on B &T property and one is legally allowed to defend themself and their family. No jury would convict and the DA likely wouldn’t take it to court

Whoa, Jodie really had went over the edge. I hope someone can be there for Shane because I think she may fall into a black hole of self loathing due to being blind to Jodie’s true intent. I loved how Bette handled the situation.
