“Well I can certainly control myself” Alice rolled her eyes for effect. “I am the only person here who has had to resist Bette after having her.”
“Not helping” Tasha shook her head.
“I can do this” Helena said taking a deep cleansing breath.
“So if any of us is having trouble let’s work out a signal so we can cover each other” Shane proposed.
“Good” Kit nodded. She was pleased that everyone seemed to come to their senses.
“How about we adapt the Carol Burnett thing, we tug on our right ear if we need help” Shane proposed.
“Ok” they all agreed.
“Al, if you mess up it’s over for you.” Shane warned her.
“I am the soul of discretion” Alice told Kit, pointedly ignoring Shane.
“Make sure you are. Any rumor or innuendo could cost Bette and Tina their child. This is serious business here. There is the personal and the political and this is as personal as it gets. You fuck with my niece, you fuck with me. I support gay marriage and family. I support my sister, her partner and their children more. Understood?”
“There is nothing to stop me from bringing up the subject of female sperm up on The View though. It would be a hot topic.” Alice mused aloud. “Followed by Orgasmic Childbirth.”
They all looked at her.
Alice mistaking their looks for support continued. “I actually heard about this before but dismissed it as too far fetched. Now that I know it’s a reality I can educate people. Start a movement.” She was on a roll.
“Alice” Tasha growled. “No.”
Undeterred with ratings flashing before her eyes she dismissed Tasha. “Tash, you are still caught up in that military code stuff, this is different.”
“Yeah, it is” Shane agreed. “This is a code of friendship stuff. Don’t forget that Tina had to ban you from the set because you all but outed the star of her film. That was so not cool.”
“He was gay bashing, he deserved it.”
“And do Tina and Bette deserve to be bashed for having a child together?” Helena asked.
“No, but this is a news story that needs to be told. I would never use their names.”
“No, you wouldn’t” Jenny agreed. “You would hint about a Dean from a prestigious University and a film producer.”
Alice glared at her. “You are one to talk. It’s not like you didn’t do worse to promote your book and then your movie. At least I won’t be assassinating anyone’s character.”
“I did.” Jenny admitted for the first time. “I didn’t see it then but I did. I was wrong. I almost think that what happened in the end was because of what I did. I don’t think karma comes so fast in general but I deserved what happened to me because of the way I treated my friends. You all have been nothing but friends to me.”
There was silence in the room as everyone digested Jenny’s confession and pondered Alice’s position.
“Alice you have to do what you think is right” Max said softly. “I wonder if you are really aware of what it will cost you if you betray Tina and Bette.”

I know were in trouble when Jenny and Max are the only ones making sense. Well Kit of course. Alice, this is so not the time to be the barer of ground breaking news. Never test or mis-use a friendship like that. These guys are going to have so much trouble dealing with Bette and her glow, and Tina and her drooling. Love the old Carol Burnett signal.
ha ha Kelika, I’m a more of a Bette person. I just love when Tina is written with a little more fire. she used to be portrayed as somewhat of a doormat on the show. But in season 5 she was strong and in charge and I all of a sudden found her very sexy. hell they are just super hot together. so thanks for the story as always.I think Alice needs a good tongue lashing from Bette so she knows better than to leak their secret.
K once again I loved this chapter. I like it cause it talked about friendship and meaning Al better remember that B&T are her friends and must keep that secret, cause if not all the gang will ban her, and with all right!!
thank god for max and jenny, well max always made sense… and jenny speaks the truth when you can figure out what she is babbling about… alice better get the idea in head… cuz i wont want tina after me… no way!after tina has few rounds with alice kit will take whats left! :)PPS

Alice has a lot to lose, Not only the love and friendship of Bette and Tina,but the whole gang. Love that even Tina is having trouble with Bette being so Hot and sexy and the glow. but the complete gang. Kit even notice the different. thanks
personally i would pay for a hit on alice if she dares even suggest going public about her friends but i expect Bette to handle Alice as she always has. great story. hopefully alice values her friend’s more than her i minute of fame. love your writing as always. pps.

Alice has always demonstrated she can stick to her friends, although its journalistic hunger has got her in trouble before. Wow, that’s the smartest thing that’s ever come out of Max’s mouth. That should make Alice think twice before running her mouth off on T.V. I thought the others were so funny with how they’re going to signal each other if they start drooling over Bette. I wonder what Bette would say??? Great stuff Kelika!
Kudos to Max and Jenny for putting it out there for Alice. I hope for once she listens and doesn’t run her mouth because the cost would be greater than any she could handle. Terrific chapter!
Nice to see Jenny “woman up” to her mistakes…Love how protective Kit and T are of B & their family….oops on me..I can’t believe I neglected to mention how much I LOVED the kissing during labor/JB allusion…perhaps such a thing isn’t as humorous as the whole death grip of the partner’s hand & swearing at them for their existence, but it’s certainly a sweeter scenario and a beautiful image for sure – thank you for that!!
