    Forever Together

The walls were always the same color, white. hospital walls are always white, I don’t know why, maybe it’s because they can either scare the patients or make them feelsterile. No matter what however, the walls never changed, they never got darker or lighter, they always were just plain white. At least they were plain white, up until the day Alice decided on decorating of course. God, she was so excited that day, she brought all these posters of tennis players, and she even blew up pictures of our friends, our families, my family. I remember that day so well. I had to stay in bed because of the medicines the doctors gave me made me weak, but of course, Alice had all the energy in the world. She had her stereo in the corner playing her new “decorating” mix, she happily told me about for a good hour. But God, she was beautiful. For some reason, things started to go in slow motion now, especially when I was watching intently, and the only person I watched like that was Alice. Her hair moved up and down, and her smile was radiant. I never felt anything like this before, because even though I knew I was in my death bed, being with Alice, I never felt so alive.

That day was so long ago. Alice and I used to talk about the day we would finally be out of this place. ” what are we gonna do with all these posters Al? there are so many of them”, I asked her.

She looked up at me and smiled, ” well, we could take them to your place, and just cover your condo with them all. Because to be honest Dane, your place is so fucking plain”.

I couldn’t help but laugh at her sincere honesty, ” Thanks Al. well, why don’t you take some to put in your place, because to be honest Al, your place is so fuckingAlice”.

She laughed at me and just like she used to, she took my arm and laid down underneath it, and snuggled closer to me. That’s when I knew, I knew that when I got out of here I wanted to be with her, ” well, we could put them all in one place”.

    1. I never thought I’d be okay with reading Dana dying, but you just did it. If it does happen *nooooo*, let’s hope there’s a Danish heaven just like you described. I loved it, thank you!

    2. Sorry got a little trigger happy and didn’t finish my thought…I just loved that line, it’s so Alice. You write Danish beautifully. This story makes me unbelievably sad for the end of S3 though. Please continue with your other story, we haven’t gotten an update from that in a while and I’m sure everyone could use some fluff! Great job!

    3. A real tearjerker… Reading this story it made me think of the lyrics I will love you from Fisher. (And I’ll give my heart/Till the end of our time/Forever and a day/Till the stars fill my eyes/And we touch the last time/I will love you.)
