Friends ch. 44
“The suspense is killing me,” Lara’s mother exclaimed.
“I just sent her a text and she’s on her way out,” Alice said, holding her phone up. We heard the doors open and Dana burst through them, a huge grin on her face.
“Dana,” everyone exclaimed at the same time, and we all hugged and kissed her.
“Thanks for being here so early, she’s dilated to about six centimeters, so we’re almost there!”
“Aww,” everyone cooed at the same time.
“I’ll let you know when the babies are here!”
Everyone sat down and got comfortable; they were going to be waiting for a bit. Bette and Tina found a small sofa to cuddle on, both excited and ready to meet their daughter in just a short couple of weeks. Everyone fell asleep waiting for good news, a couple hours passing without hearing anything from Dana. Tina stirred awake an hour later, waking Bette.
“What is it babe?”
“I’m having really bad indigestion.”
“Come on sweetheart, let’s see if the gift shop is open, maybe they’ll have something there for you,” Bette said, helping Tina up and they walked down the hall. They found some antacids, and looked at all the cute baby things. They bought some onesies and booties for the babies and a baby book for themselves.
“We still have an hour before we have to be in Dr. Wilson’s office,” Bette said looking at her watch, “hopefully she can still see us, if the Fairbanks babies don’t arrive first.”
“Let’s go over there anyway, maybe she can see us early,” Tina said and they walked over to her office. They were the only ones there and they signed in.
“We had an appointment for eight, but we were hoping to get in early.”
“I’ll see what I can do, Dr. Wilson admitted a patient overnight,” the nurse said.
“Dana Fairbanks.”
“Um, how did you know that,” she asked, squinting her eyes.
“She’s a very close friend of ours, we recommended Dr. Wilson to her.”
“Oh ok,” she said and laughed, “Well, I’ll see where Dr. Wilson is at and I’ll call you back.”
“Great,” Bette said and sat; she held Tina’s hand and smiled. Tina still looked a tad uncomfortable; hopefully Dr. Wilson could give Tina something to calm her indigestion.
“Tina, we’re ready for you,” they heard only minutes later.
“Thank you,” Bette said and Tina just smiled as they walked back to Dr. Wilson’s office. As they sat in the chairs in front of her desk, they held hands and Tina’s grip was tight.
“What’s wrong Tee?”
“This heartburn, ugh,” Tina said, and got up.
“Tee,” Bette said sounding alarmed when Tina’s face turned white and Bette looked down.
“My water just broke,” Tina said, and then the panic set in Bette’s heart.

Silent reader here checking in!
I know that Melvin was not a kind man, to put it mildly, but I think that Bette and Kit were a bit too harsh in their approach of him dying. And Oh, the babies will be born on the same day, but Tina is a couple weeks early, I hope all is well.
Seriously!!! PPS
