    Chapter 135 – Helena’s Charm

    “She didn’t do anything inappropriate did she?  I mean we all know what Helena‘s about and if she goes anywhere
    you’re not comfortable with you can get out at any time.  Remember that Samantha I don’t want you hurt.  It’s not worth you sacrificing yourself, OK?”
    Grace asked determined to get Samantha’s agreement on this point.

     

    “No Grace I’m OK.  If
    I understand Shane, most of Helena‘s
    advances will happen in public.  It’s a
    voyeurism that she seems to need, that element of public display.  We’ve worked it out where I’m never
    alone.  Last night a woman, I have never
    seen her before literally ran into the back side of Helena. 
    She appeared drunk but I really think she was one of Shane’s
    people.  It was enough of an interruption
    that Helena
    gracefully exited.  I’m hoping she’s back
    today or tomorrow. I don’t want to chase her but I think she liked all the
    attention.” Samantha shares last night’s events.

     

    “I saw you two with the press.  I have to admit having Helena say nice things about our Foundation
    did raise more money for us.” Grace adds.

     

    “That is so funny. 
    You know that getting the positive press seemed to be her mission last
    night.  I think that was the main reason
    for her to be at the dinner.  She seems
    to have a thing for kids and wanted to appear benevolent towards them.”
    Samantha shares her insight. 

     

    This clicks for Grace but she keeps it to herself for
    now.  “Well I’m glad you were able to
    handle her.  Keep me in the loop with any
    further communications OK?” Grace asks concern written all over her face. 

     

    “Sure thing” Samantha says getting up to go back to her own
    desk.  “Hey Grace I’m going to get a cup
    of coffee do you want any?”

     

    “Yeah that would be great. 
    Thanks”

     

    Samantha turns back to the door and stops dead standing
    there is Helena Peabody.

     

     

    Chapter 135 – Helena‘s
    Charm

     

     

    On her way to the CAC Bette pulls out her cell with her
    Bluetooth earpiece in she dials Franklin‘s
    home number.  She wanted to have this
    conversation with Franklin
    about James before she offered James her old position. 

     

    “Hello Franklin,
    this is Bette I was wondering if you had anytime today?  Could I possibly buy you lunch?” Bette asks
    politely.  She doesn’t really need Franklin‘s approval but
    still she would rather run the idea by him. 
    Bette has found his insight different from hers and at times actually
    invaluable.  It strikes Bette as funny
    that all the time she needed Franklin’s approval she never wanted to hear what
    he had to say but now that she doesn’t she does.  One of the little ironies of life.  Franklin
    seemed delighted to have lunch so Bette quickly names a place she knows Franklin will like and
    gets off the phone agreeing to meet him there.

    3. Jeez, you really aren’t doing our blood pressure any good – your reeling her in, but its at a slow pace mate! I’m not sure I can stand it, I may have to take matter into my own hands. I might just let the old pedestal fall on her just as I catch SHSL in my arms…. we can watch the last twitches of Helamster life dwindling before our very eyes… just as the new pedestal arrives, along with the scaffolding for its erection – coz it is mighty high – but very glad you agreed that it can be “a pedestal made for two”. I’ve also just realised that people who read this comment are going to wonder what the fuck I am on!!! Please readers – it all legal…. honest!

    4. Don’t worry about writing Helena without redeeming qualities. It’s deliciously satisfying to see the noose slowly tighten around her neck. Thanks for another great chapter and please post soon.

    17. Hi Jwet great chapter, I left a comment after the last chapter but it didn’t post. My man Vince is ON the JOB and Sam and Grace are reeling MS Peabody in. Helena is falling and she won’t be able to get up. I am so happy for James being promoted to Bette’s former position, and I am even happier for what it will mean for B&T and their family. James is a perfect fit because he and Bette already have sure a great rapport and respect for each other. Slowly but assurely things seem to be shaping up for Hellena’s down fall and happiness for B&T :o)
