“That’s better. So here is what I need from you .”

Tina made her way into the
office, for a Friday traffic was pretty light.
As she made her way behind her desk she saw a stack of mail on her chair
and a pink post-it on top of them all.
The note was from Jackie. Tina had noticed that her office light was
on, as she walked in. Jackie must have had
her usual early start this morning.
Picking up the post-it it read:
“Have made interesting progress we need to talk!”
“Wow” Tina thought as she
immediately knew this had to do with
Jackie but then put the receiver down.
She would just go into Jackie’s office.
Jackie had her door opened. She heard Tina knocking on the door frame as
she stood in the doorway waiting. Jackie
looked up as she was on the phone. Waving
Tina in as she continued her conversation.
Holding one finger up, Jackie indicated she would only be a few moments
more and then waved for Tina to take a seat.
” I know that but how do we
progress to getting charges pressed?” Jackie says rather insistently and then
listens. Apparently Jackie doesn’t like
what she’s hearing as she lets out an exasperated sigh and sadly shaking her
head. “So what you’re saying is that I
should invite her in to wreak havoc with my foundation before I can personally
press charges.” Having spit this out she
listens again, Jackie appears very impatient as she listens, rapping her pen on
her legal pad, creating a rapid beat. Everything
about her body language screams that she is not happy about what she is
hearing.
Finally hearing enough she
interrupts whomever she’s talking to “Well I just don’t think it’s acceptable
to leave her out there preying on innocent people for her jollies. I will have to think about it and get back to
you.” With that Jackie hang up “Damn!” as
she stares at the phone she just slammed down.
After a second she seems to regroup and realizes that Tina’s sitting
there.
Jackie looks up a little
embarrassed by her last remark “Sorry I just “
“No don’t worry. I assume all that has to do with
couldn’t imagine Jackie being involved in any other activity.

Hello Jwet: Once again another marvelous chapter. I will be waiting for the next one to com our way. Enjoy the vacation!!! Before we know it the strong cold north winds will be howling and the snow will be flying.

OOoooh, who is Helena’s accomplice? And I still have a soft heart for Alice. Maybe it’s because I feel like both Bette and Tina is ganging up on her. Please spare her a bit. Great story and needless to say, I want more.

I love this Tina…”“Oh I’m not the one that needs the luck!” Tina emphatically states as she begins putting on her game face.
I can just picture Alice sitting there having to cool her jets….we all know Alice is pitiful in the patience department.

To all of your readers…JWET is even more wonderful in person, than you imagine her to be when reading her beautiful writing. Helena is quickly becoming her own worst enemy. Her belief that she is invincible is only going to make her house of cards that much more unstable.
Jackie may have been come across a stumbling block for the moment, but given all that Jackie is I don’t see her rolling over and playing helpless. She’s going to rally troups and call in some favors, I would guess. I know that I sure as hell wouldn’t want to tangle with her!
Alice really doesn’t have any clue as to just how percarious her friendship is with Bette and Tina at the moment, does she? But, in the end will she truly learn that sometimes you can be too ‘investigative’?
I can just picture Alice sitting outside of Tina’s office like she’s waiting to see the principal. She’s going to get major detention for this offense!
Interjecting the sweet talk between B&T was nice. It’s those little moments that smooth out the rough edges of life. The fact that they are able to share the inside joke about Alice stewing in her own juices was funny. Bette being able to see the larger picture of ‘WE’ and not go off about her having to be a part of the Helena debacle is another sign of growth for Bette.
Glad you’re back, looking forward the the next chapter. Wonderful as usual!

Great chapter, I think that Tina will be up to the task of handling Alice. I am glad that Jackie is on board with this Helena thing. It was smart of her not to want to involve Jack before they know exactly what they want to do. I have a smeeking feeling that he is the person that Helena is on the telephone with.
I am still patienctly awaiting the time when Bette will reveal that she was present during Anna’s birth.
