Give Me A Reason
Part 17
Lisa– How are you?
Tina heard the good doctor but her eyes were looking at the family picture on top of the table; she took a deep sigh
Tina– I don’t know
Lisa– You don’t know?
Silence
The blonde didn’t answer the question; instead, she just continued looking at the family picture
Tina– You have a beautiful family
Lisa– Thank you
Tina– That’s an old picture right?
Lisa– Yes it is. It was taken when my son was only fifteen, now he’s a grown man and about to get married.
Tina—Congratulations! (the blonde said then made a small smile)
Lisa—Thank you, but you haven’t answered my question yet, how are you Tina?
The blonde closed her eyes for a brief moment and then turned her gaze to Lisa
Tina— I guess… I guess I feel lost right now
The good doctor heard the uncertainty in the blonde’s voice
Lisa— Why is that?
For the past few days, they had talked in details the blonde’s relationships that she had since high school until she got married, all of which were just physical relationships, no emotional, romantic attachment just plain sex. It was indeed hard for her to go back to the past, but it was one of the important parts of the healing process and even though she didn’t want to, she just had to.
Tina – Thinking about what Veronica did to me when I was a little child was hard, but it’s even harder remembering the bad things that I did when I was younger. Using my body to manipulate men is the kind of thing that only an evil person can do and when I think about it now, I keep,( her voice now cracking) I keep on asking myself can a person like me can still change?
Lisa – Tina no matter what a person did in his or her past, that person can still change, everyone deserves that chance and that includes you. And believe me when I say that you did change. You are not the same person ten years ago who gained pleasure in seducing men and making them do things that you want, whenever you want and however you want. You are not that same person anymore, Tina.
