Alice got back to her LA home. She loved to drive through those high electronic security gates that secured her from the outside world. Many a time she had returned to find throngs of reporters stood there waiting to get an interview that it seemed they could twist against her, and obtain that photograph that showed her despair. Today there was nothing, and for that she was grateful. They closed behind her little blue mini and she proceeded to the front of the small place she called home, surrounded by trees that hid the front from the street.

She unlocked her front door, closed it and lent her back against it. It worried her that if it weren’t for her work and of course her friends she could so easily become a recluse, shutting herself off from the outside world. The time was 1pm, she had finished her stint on set early, so decided to go to the fridge, get a bottle of chilled water and sit out on the balcony which overlooked the city, with the Hollywood sign in the distance. She sat at the side of her swimming pool and dangled her feet in the cool water. It was a beautiful, hot LA afternoon and she put her head back and smiled up at the sun. This gave Alice a boost. She loved the tranquillity of her back garden.

After a short time she decided she had time to go and lie down for an hour before the girls night out tonight. That would give her time to get up, shower, make a snack and then be ready for Shane at 7pm.

A blonde, shapely stewardess came round the plane offering a last drink to the passengers. She smiled over at Dana and seductively asked if she could do anything for her. Dana, being her usual naïve self didn’t pick up on the innuendo and flirting, and smiled back and said she was fine. The stewardess replied that was ok but if she thought of anything to just press the button and she would come straight up. Mark sat there, tutted and shook his head. Dana ignored him. Not long to go.

Dana was so excited, she had her glimpse of the Hollywood sign as the plane came into land and sighed remembering her childhood memories. The plane landed at LA airport, taxied around and finally came to a halt at the terminal building. She gathered her magazines and shoved everything in her backpack and stood waiting to get off as soon as she could. As she exited the plane, two flight staff said the usual thanks for flying with us, when the blonde one from earlier stepped up to Dana and held out her hand. Perplexed, Dana looked at the blonde and then down at her hand in which she held a small business card. She took the card and glimpsed at it when the stewardess whispered in her ear.
