    Author Notes:

    The lazy day.

     

    Tina’s face involuntarily blushes, as she lies, “I don’t remember.  Why?”

     

    “Because you sounded like you were having a very good dream.”

     

    “What did you hear?” Tina asks, looking away from Bette.

     

     “I heard you, uh uh, you were moaning and calling my name.”

     

    Tina’s face gets even redder as she starts to get up from the hammock.

     

    “T, don’t leave.”  Bette puts her hand on her arm.  “Babe, I only brought it up because I thought we should talk about things.  Please.”

     

    Tina stays in the hammock with Bette, but still won’t look at her.

     

    “T, why do you think I left you alone in my bed to go for a run?”

     

    “I don’t know.  You said you and Sam always run.”

     

    “That’s true.  But that’s not why I got up when I did.”

     

    Tina looks at her for the reason.

     

    “Babe, I woke up so happy to have you in my arms.  Then I started thinking about our physical relationship.  I was already getting turned on, just thinking about making love to you.”

     

    Join the club Tina thinks.  I wish you had joined me.

     

    “I was laying there trying to control myself when you started talking in your sleep.  Needless to say, hearing you call my name like that was stretching my self-control to the breaking point.”

     

    Tina was glad to hear she wasn’t alone in thinking about them making love.

     

    “For me, it was either get out of that bed when I did or lose control and take you right there and then.”

     

    Tina smirks at her.  “You could have you know?  That’s what I was dreaming about.”

     

    “Now I may have a slightly off-center code of ethics, but I do have one.  And we don’t make love unless we’re both certain that’s what we want.  Tina, we’ll only have one first time.  I want it to be perfect.”  Bette is holding back tears, staring at the floor. 

     

    Tina fights tears of her own as she tells Bette, “Damn you Porter!”

     

    Bette jerks her face up to look at Tina, scared of her reaction.

     

    “Thank you Bette.  I love that you care so much.”  Tina hesitates, “But why does everything always have to be perfect with you?  If not, we’d have made love by now and neither of us would be this frustrated.”
