From Dana’s Point of View:

Oh my God, why were my parents making me do this, why couldn’t I just stay at that damn school for my last year, why move me? I thought to myself or more like argued with myself. My parents had moved yet again and yet again me and my brother Howie had to move schools.

So here I am standing at yet another new school, not knowing where to go or look.

“Ok Dana you can do this.” I say to myself walking into school.

I decided to keep my head down as I walked towards the building.

“Hey there” I looked up to see a strange but … beautiful blonde girl standing with a bunch of other girls smiling at me.

“Ummm … Hey!” I replied shyly looking at her, I could see her friends looking at me curiously except she’s the one I’m noticing, Ok I need to stop this, she’s probably straight and I’m not out yet!

“You new here?” She asked smiling at me.

“Umm yeah, my parents moved again so here I am, oh and my brother is here as well … somewhere. Oh god I’m sorry I’m rambling.” I looked down trying to hide my flushed cheeks.

She laughed gently, “Don’t worry about it, you weren’t rambling.” The school bell went off. “Oh we best get going, umm I’m Alice.”

I looked up at the girl’s then back at Alice. “Hi Alice …. I’m umm Dana.” I smiled at her adjusting my bag. “Ok I’m gunna go.”

“Hey umm Dana what year you in?” I looked back to see the tall skinny brunette girl looking at me waiting for an answer.

“Umm I’m a senior.” I said catching a glance to the blonde Alice who was joking and smiling with her friends.

“Well we can take you to reception if you like, show you the way?” She asked smiling at me. “I’m Shane by the way, that is Alice as you know and over there with her is Bette and Tina and the one on her cell that’s Jenny.”

I smiled back taking the opportunity to snatch a look at Alice. Why is this girl having this effect on me, I don’t know her! “Umm Hi Shane.” I gave a small wave to the other girls looking down as I could feel my cheeks burning up when they all gave me warm smiles and waved back coming over to us.

“Hey guys we’re gunna take Dana to reception make sure she gets there ok.” Shane said looking at the other girls.

Walking to reception I stayed quiet not knowing what to say, just listening to the girls and catching occasional glances at Alice, sometimes quickly looking away as she caught me. Walking into Reception the school was even busier inside having to push past people to get to the desk.

“Ok Dana well reception should show you the way from here and let you know what class you’re in.” I smiled at Bette at least I think it was Bette.

“Thank you.” I looked around me at everyone with there friends on the way to class before looking back the girls stood in front of me.

“Ok well see you later Dana.” The blonde girl next to Bette smiled.

“Bye” The rest of the girls followed.

“Umm Bye, thanks again.” I smiled.

“Bye Dana.” Alice smiled at me again taking her hand from her pocket giving me a small wave.

“Bye Alice” I smiled back shyly.

The girls left making there way to class, I watched them leave before turning to lady behind the desk to start my day at yet another new school.
