    I Just Wanna Turn to You-chp. 3

“Are you ok? You don’t feel sick or anything right? Because we have to
be careful, you know. Sometimes, when people get really drunk, like you
are right now, and then they pass out, like you did at the club, it can
    get pretty bad, so—”

“Dane, I’m fine. Just lay with me, ok? I just want to be with you for
awhile.” Alice wrapped her arms tightly around her best friend, moving
    even closer to her.

Dana felt strange. She didn’t want to say no to Alice, but she was
afraid that if they stayed this way for very long, Dana was going to
break the promise they had made to each other. The promise that they
would be nothing more than friends. But staring at Alice, asleep in her
arms, her lips so close, Dana couldn’t resist. Making sure Alice’s eyes
were closed , Dana lowered her head and kissed Alice lightly on the
lips. No response. Maybe Alice didn’t feel it? Or maybe, even worse,
she didn’t want it. Dana turned her head to the side, afraid that any
second Alice would send her out of her room because she had gone way
    too far.

Dana was about to get up and leave, when Alice jumped on top of her and began kissing her wildly.

Dana tried to speak through the kiss. “Alice–are you sure you—”

“Yes! Now shut up and kiss me back!”

Dana couldn’t refuse. She kissed Alice back with more force, moving her
hands up and down Alice’s back, pulling at her shirt. She lifted it up
and slid her hands underneath, feeling Alice’s soft skin. Their tongues
were working together, lips biting and nails clawing. They were
attacking each other, all of their pent up emotions spilling out of
them. How could they have gone five months without doing this? Now that
it was all happening, neither of them could figure out what gave them
the strength to stay so far away before.

Dana climbed on top of Alice, taking control. They lay there for hours,
kissing and laughing, amazed at how good their lips tasted, and how
happy they finally were. They couldn’t believe the rules they were
breaking. They were in love. Alice and Dana fell asleep in each other’s
arms that night, finally content with life.  Having bad luck and
being in the closet didn’t seem to matter now. These were things that
could be figured out later, together. They finally had each other. It
    was all that was needed.
