    Shane has some news for Bette but why isn’t she pleased about it? Can Bette and Tina finally make love without Bette’s insecurities and the world calling for its hero?

    Chapter 9, Tina’s POV

    It’s been two weeks since the events that brought Bette back to me. Her promotion to Sergeant and her ‘night’ job wasn’t really getting in the way of our new relationship.

    “Don’t stand so close to me when I’m trying to work”

    I could feel Bette standing behind me and that usually meant she wanted something

    Bette: Why am I distracting you?

    “Yes you are and you know it”

    Bette bends down; I could feel her breath on my ear

    Bette: I was wondering if you’d like to have dinner with me tonight?

    “If you’re not busy I would love to”

    Bette: I’m hoping LA and the rest of the world will give me the night off

    “Don’t get your hopes up”

    She kisses me on the cheek lightly then stands straight

    Bette: I never do

    “I know”

    Bette: I love you

    “I love you too”

    I go back to work and look ahead to our date tonight. I was hoping LA and the rest of the world would give my girlfriend the night off. After a little while I noticed Bette run out of her office

    “What is it this time?”

    Bette: Carjacking, I’ll see you in a minute

    “Go”

    I’m proud to call Bette my girlfriend. She’s honest, true, loving and not to mention super powered; she’ll always be there when I need her. She took me to Paris for our first date and we had dinner at the Eiffel Tower. She hasn’t pressured me into making love with her and she seemed to be reluctant due to her super powers; she was scared to hurt me.

    Shane: Hey Tina is that girlfriend of yours around?

    “Nope she’s just gone to stop a carjacking”

    Shane: A hero’s work is never done

    “Yeah that’s true”

    Shane: How you holding up?

    “I’m great”

    Shane: When Bette gets back could give…

    Bette: Give her what?

    Myself and Shane look behind us to see Bette standing there straightening her jacket

    Shane: A message

    Bette: I’m here

    Shane: Al was wondering whether you are joining us tonight at Milk
