CHAPTER 104
“My daddy is the greatest person on earth! He is a lawyer and he fights for the rights of people who are not treated fairly, he is on the good side of the law, well that’s what people say. He is a good guy who believes everyone should be treated the same, that’s why when I grow up I want to be just like him.
He is the greatest daddy in the world –I love him very much and he is so kind to me. So when I grow up I want to be a lawyer too, because it’s a great job to do and I’m so proud of my daddy, he has won many awards because he is the greatest at his job.

Melvin put the small piece of paper down…He continued to stare at it for a few moments, then he covered his face in his hands momentarily…
It was an extract from his daughters school book from many years before that Tina had given him..
He and Bette had found it when they were clearing the loft one holiday season whilst she was home from university…She must have kept it all these years…
He wiped his face with his hands as if to gain clarity of thought…
His mind started to wander back to happier times..As it whirled with mixed up emotions…
Bette had been his pride and joy…Such a delightful child, so curious, so intelligent…So beautiful…
He’d had high hopes for her – He just knew she would go far in life…And excel in whichever profession she choose…What had happened? What did he do wrong?
… Had her mother’s departure at such a young age had such a profound effect on her that she had sought comfort in the arms of other women?
..Was that why she seeked solace and looked for love from other women? – If so, if that were the reason, then it had been his fault…He had driven Maxine away after all…
He rubbed his chin and pondered his racing thoughts as tears threatened his eyes…
Was it just a genetic thing, as some people claimed?…Had his genes, or his wife’s malfunctioned and caused his daughters sexual orientation to go wrong? ..He just couldn’t understand why his daughter leaned this way!….Was it really his fault? Was it because he was never there? Did he not give her enough love? Was it her way of rebelling against him?- He quickly dismissed his last thought, as common sense told him if she had been doing it to piss him off she would have stopped a long time ago…

OMG, PLEASE KEEP THE STORY GOING AFTER THE WEDDING. There will be so much more to tell and we want to know it all. This was a very moving chapter from Bette’s childhood letter to the very end. I hated the words Melvin used to describe Tina though, he is such a bastard and a hypocrite. And the joke is on him, Tina is the father of Bette’s baby. Oh my, I can hardly wait until he finds out. ROTFLMAO!!!!!!I CAN JUST SEE HIS FACE NOW.LOL Thanks for posting. PPVS
