Bette comes up behind me and places her hands on my shoulders…I turn around instantly and embraced her…squeezing her tight…she holds me and I bury my face in her neck…she runs her hands up and down my back…she says…
” T…I thought this was gonna make you happy…not sad…”
she rubs my back somemore…I wipe my tears and said…
“I am happy…I’m more than happy…I’m over joyed…I’m excited…you read my mind…”
I back away and look into her eyes…I say
“I just can’t believe that you bought this…all of it…I mean you just gave me a check for ten-thousand dollars…and then you-”
she puts her finger over my lips…she says…
“shhh…I know what I gave you…but…I did all of this because I love you and you needed it…I did it from my heart T…I wanted to surprise you…and besides…”
she gets down on her knees and says…
“I wanted to do it for my daughter too…for our daughter…she needs a crib to sleep in and somewhere comfortable to be changed in…so why not… I thought that I’d help you…besides we are in this together…
I smile and say
“your right…”
she then says
“you being here right now is the best thing that could happen to me Tina…I wondered when you would come home and to know that’s today…I’m just out of it at the moment…I’m happy to have you home and to prove it to you…I have another surprise for you…”
I almost collapsed against the crib…thank god she grabbed me at the right time…she rose before me and faced me…she took my hand and led me into the bedroom…I watched as she opened the door before me…
“NO YOU DIDN’T…”
I enter the bedroom and there were all types of bags that surounded the bed…all types of clothes from baby gap…the Children’s Place and Macy’s as well…I went over to the bags and that’s when she said…
“they’re for the baby…when I found out that you were having a girl…I went over board and went shopping two days after you left the last time that you was here…I decorated the room the same day I did the shopping…”
I turned away from the bags and faced her…I walked over to her and said…
