Tina: (Laughing at Alice)Yeah Al, youll be my date.

Alice: I must worn you Kennard, I dont put out on the first date.

Tina: Funny, very funny. If you werent my friend I think I would leave you at home.

Alice: Oh NO you didnt. Im going girl! I have my own agenda for this artsy thing.

Tina: (Pleading with Alice)Please promise me you are going to be on your best behavior.

Alice: Moi? What do you expect TK? DO you really think I would embarrass you in front of your new love interest?

Tina: Excuse me! My love interestBette is not my love interest.

Alice: Sooo, its Bette now?

Tina: I gotta go Al. Just be ready by 7 on Friday.

Alice: Ill be ready and waiting my love.

Tina: Bye Al.

Tina: (pacing back and forth and talking to herself)what will I wear? Does Bette consider this a date? Surely she doesnt think its a date, how could anyone that beautiful be single? Besides, she doesnt look gaymaybe Ill going crazymaybe Alice really is rubbing off on me.

Thursday night Bette wonders around her house trying on different outfits, her goal for tomorrow night is to knock Tina out of her shoes.

Bette: It has to be perfectthis may be my only chance at her. She said she was bringing someone else but that someone could just be a friend? Who am I kidding, shes bringing a date. Although, she didnt wear a wedding band, maybe its just her boyfriend, or a date? Why do I do this to myself? Im not about splitting people up nor do I try to come between them. I guess you cant help who you fall formarried, dating, single or *****.

Bette: (On the phone)Tomorrow night has to be perfecteverything must go as planned.

Bette: I understand youre feeling the pressurehell, we all are. This is the biggest event of the year, not only for the gallery but the entire art community.

Bette: I know Jennijust be sure that Tina Kennards name is listed and that Im notified the minute she arrives.

Bette: Thankshave a good evening and we will put the finishing touches on those displays tomorrow. Remember that I wont be in until around 11I have some personal errands to run for tomorrow night.

Bette: OKIll see you then.

Friday afternoon Bette walks into the galleryshe is greeted by her assistant David

David: (Handing Bette some memos)These came today.

Bette: (Taking the memos) Damn, I cant believe thiswhy todaywhy now?

David: Whats wrong Bette?

Bette: Oh nothingit just seems that one of our celebrity guests is backing out last minute.

David: It is one of the artists or just a guest speaker?

Bette: Actually, she is neither. Dana is just a good friend whom I invited and hoped with her being here the gallery would pull in some extra publicity. Its not a big dealshe was just doing me a favor.

David: There is a delivery waiting for you on your desk.

Bette: Thanks Davidwill you tell Jenni that Im ready to go over all last minute details.

Bette walks into her office to find a beautiful bouquet of flowers.

Bette: Who could these be from.
Bette pulls out the card and starts to read it. I hope these beautiful flowers find their way to the beautiful owner. Good luck tonightI hope to steal some of your time.
