Irresponsibility At It’s Finest
I woke the next morning and Tina was still asleep. I loved to watch her sleep, she was like an angel and I was so happy to have her in my life. I kissed her cheek and slipped out of the bed as quietly as possible as not to disturb her. I threw on some clothes and made my way to the kitchen. I started the coffee and pulled some food out of the fridge. I started to make us breakfast, and as I was cutting some fruit, I felt eyes on me.
”Morning baby,” I said and smiled.
”Morning,” she said and kissed me, ”smells wonderful.”
”I wanted to serve you breakfast in bed.”
”The bed got cold, it woke me.”
”Aw, I’m sorry sweetheart.”
”It’s ok, I was hoping last night wasn’t a dream. Our whole relationship has been like a dream, I thought you left.”
”Baby,” I said wiping my hands off and holding her tight, ”I will never leave you. I promise.”
I kissed her and made her sit while I served her. We sat and enjoyed our breakfast in a contented silence. I had opened the french doors and we let the nice summer breeze in. We stared at the pool and the yard. Tina made plans to grow a garden in the yard to the left of the pool. As I made plans to build a gazebo and a nice outside living area.
”What did Alice mean when she said ‘the player comes out,’” Tina asked as we cleaned up the dishes. She hopped up on the counter, and looked down at me.
”Babe, I don’t like talking about it. It’s in the past, can’t I just leave it there?”
”Fine if you don’t wanna talk about it,” she said and turned away.
”Tina, it was nothing. Alice just heard some stories, and her busy body self stretched the truth.”
”If it was nothing and Alice is a gossipy whore then what was with the player comment?”
”Why do you want to know?”
”I just want to know about you, the good and the bad. I don’t care.”
”Babe, fine. Please don’t get angry. But yes I used to be a player in high school-ish college. That’s why most of my relationships never lasted, I couldn’t keep my hands to myself.”
