Just The Girl, Stories: Redwind Revisited (Anger Management)

“Stop staring at me Porter, you’re getting on my nerves.”

“But I’m not staring at you.”

    “Then quit ogling me.”

    “I’m not ogling.”

“Oh? So what, you’re just gawking then?”

“Nah, gawking seems kinda pervy. Admiring sounds better.”

    “Fine, then quit admiring me.”

    “Why?”

    “Cause it’s annoying!”

“But I’m not even doing anything! I’m just looking.”

“That’s the problem! You’re making me feel uncomfortable.”

“Is that the only thing I’m making you feel?”

    “No.”

    “Really?”

“You’re making me feel angry too.”

And with that, she emphasizes her words by reaching a hand out, slapping my cheek and forcing me to look in front of the classroom instead of her. It didn’t hurt (that much) but she certainly took me by surprise. Once again, my lame attempt at flirting had been foiled. A boulder was easier to crack than this blonde’s heart, that’s for sure.

I’ve literally just been bitch-slapped in front of my new classmates. Under normal circumstances, I would’ve been blowing my top off just about now, hurling chairs and tables and anything I could get my hands on. My alleged temper issues would manifest it’s murderous self and go on a rampage. Surprisingly, that didn’t happen. If the one who had slapped me had been anyone else but Tina, I would’ve returned the favor and slapped them back so hard their whole head would’ve twisted around their neck. But that’s just it. Since it was Tina, I just sat here on my seat, rubbing my reddened cheek and smiling a goofy grin.

I’ve just been slapped.. and I actually liked it. Holy fuck.

“The heck are you smiling about?”

    “Nothing.”

    “You’re creeping me out..”

    “Am I?”

    “Yes.”

    “Really?”

    “Stop it!”

    “Stop what?”

“That thing you’re doing with your face.”

    “But I’m not doing anything..”

    “You’re smiling!”

“So? Would you prefer that I frown instead?”

    “Yes!”

    “Huh? Why?”

“Cause I’m used to seeing you frown.”

“And you don’t like it when I smile?”

    “I don’t.”

    “Why?”

“Frankly, its disconcerting. Plus, you’re scaring me right now.”

    “How?”
