Keeping the Pieces Together: Chapter 2 Communication Begins

    Previously:

Despite the fact that Bette was so turned on, that her body ached for Tina, all of these thoughts were flooding her.  Then there was Helena.  Yes, Helena touched Tina, entered her, explored her body.  And yes, even now Helena still claimed Tina as her own.  Bette was the only woman Tina had been with, but not anymore.  Bette’s head was filled with pictures of Helena with Tina; these images have haunted her ever since Tina started dating Helena.  But, now, as Tina slid her hand under Bette’s shirt, begging for Bette to do the same, these images were flashing at her, reminding her, confusing her.

Tina, noticing that Bette was distracted, stopped kissing her and met Bette’s uneasiness written in her eyes.  “Bette, baby, what’s wrong?”

“Oh, nothingnothing baby.” Bette replied, trying to sound convincing.

She leaned in to kiss Tina, determined to make love to her wife, no her ex-wife.  Well, damn it, what exactly were they, Bette wondered.  This was just too much for her to take, too much uncertainty.

    BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG!

Bette and Tina jumped up from the couch, trying to figure out what that sound was.

After a second of refocusing their attention, they realized it was someone knocking loudly on their front door.

“I know you are in there!  I see your car in the driveway!  I tried your cell, but I only got your voicemail.  I need to talk to you!”

Bette and Tina looked at each other.

    Chapter 2:

“Bette, please open up! I need to talk to you, PLEASE!!”

Upon recognition of the voice, Bette began to button her shirt as Tina opened the front door.

In darted Alice, breezing right past Tina.  “Bette, thank god you are here, I need to talk to you. Your cell phone, it must be off or something.  I don’t know what is going on.  I don’t know what to do.”

“Alice, calm down, what’s wrong, what happened?”

Tina closed the front door, startling Alice.  She glanced over at Tina, realizing that her presence was unusual considering the recent past.  “Tina?  You are here?  At homewith Bette?”
