THE L WING Chapter 161
Narration of First Lady and Acting Chief of Staff Tina Kennard-Porter
It is 5:30am and I am watching a TV feed from the FBI live from the place where we are now sure that Shane is being held. I know that CNN are about 10 minutes from the site and Fox have a helicopter on the way to the scene -they should be there in 15 minutes.
I am in Bette’s office with CJ, Dylan and obviously Bette. The tension is so intense that it would take a chain saw to break through it.
“Why don’t these jackasses just surrender ? “ Dylan demands
“Because they are in so much trouble – and from what the FBI have found out they are also pretty
drugged up. They pulled their dealer and he sold them enjoy to sink a battleship “ CJ replies “ How do you think this is going to look on CNN Tina ?”
“I know the editors there pretty well and they will be getting all their top people in. This is going to look sensational stuff on the breakfast shows “
“What time should we do the first briefing ?”
I see that CJ is tense – well this is a big one for her to handle – but she is a brilliant Press Secretary – better than I was because I lost focus when I fell in love with the boss.
“When we have this wrapped up — I’d say by 9 or 10 this will be over one way or the other”
“Did you have to say it like that ? “ Dylan asks looking at me
“What I meant was that by 9am Shane will be out and we will be wrapping it up. “
“It just sounded like “
“Yeah – I know – I’m sorry how it came out – Bette – you okay ? “
Bette is sitting back in her chair staring at the feed.
“How many times have they tried to make contact with them ? “ she asks
“Twice “ CJ exchanges looks with Dylan

WELL, I BELIEVE IS WAS WRONG OF THEM NOT TO TELL aLICE WAS IS GOING ON, MAINLY BECASE SHE ONE SHANE BEST FRIENDS. NO WONDER SHE ALWAYS FEEL LEFT OUT. IT WAS TOTALLY WRONG OF THEM. RESPECT IS EARN BOTH WAYS, IF THEY WANT TOTAL COOPERATION FROM HER , THEY SHOULD INCLUDE, SINCE SHE IS PART OF STAFF. TINA SHOULDN’T BE CHIEF STAFF, I BELIEVE IT WOULD COMPROMISE THE POSITION BECAUSE EVERYBODY WOULD THINK THAT SHE GOT THE POSITION BY BEING THE PRESIDENT’S WIFE.
ahhhhhhhh so nice to have shane back..Tina as the Chief…i see some grief ahead…
Excellent work on this chapter. I concur w/ally that Gumby’s story is the best on the site right now especially w/the dialogue.
Damn, I guess she wasn’t out playing Pokemon after all. Am I a bad person for not caring if Alice gets canned for one reason or another? PPS

Lament’, I’m like you, I don’t give a f*** about Alice (in this story I mean), especially after she said to Tina that all Bette cared about was her and her “bump”… I thought that was VERY out of line!!! Big mouth deserved to be left out… And by the way, Ally, this is your story, and you do whatever you want with it. ;) ;) I’ll always stick with it. And Ally’s rules suit me just fine! Thank you so much for giving me my fix of L Wing TONIGHT, mate, cause I definitely needed it with what just happened to my country… Hey guys, wish us luck!!!

Ally, great chapter as always! Thanks! Can we cut poor Alice some slack? She’s really taking a beating here and lets not forget how Lucy screwed up with Jodi and the pot thing. Also, lets not forget how she helped to break Alice’s heart by messing with Jodi and what Jodi did to B&T by spilling the beans. As for Tasha…give the her a break too…I mean come on…she’s been doing a great job for Bette…now Tina’s ready to kick her to the curb for her stupid, drug using, cheating sister. I think Lucy needs to stew a little longer to get her job back. As for Alice, I think she’ll really be hurt that no one told her what was going on w/Shane…I mean they are best friends after all. Give her a break. PPS I can’t wait for the next one. :)

Well shoot Ally..if all it takes is me asking nicely…LOL! First, this chapter was AWESOME. I had to read it twice because my eyes skimmed quickly to first make sure Shane was ok! LOL…then I read it over and took it all in, it was amazing both times. As for the author notes…you have no idea what that means to me so thanks. Also, the mug, that’s hysterical!! Glad Shane is safe. I hope Tasha doesn’t tip Alice off.. because that would be Lucy would get her position back. She messed up way, way worse regardless of being Tina’s sister. Plus she is a brat. Can’t wait for to B and T alone time now that this is all over.
