Tina laughed as she opened the door to let Alice and Dana in. It was a Saturday afternoon and Alice had agreed to watch Liz so that Tina and Bette could go to some gallery opening in the evening. Liz was tearing through the house wearing nothing more than a pair of shorts and a jacket tied around her shoulders like a cape. Ever since Liz discovered TV outside of the Baby Einstein videos she had been picking up quite a few odd clothing styles and her latest one was probably the most hilarious. On Sunday mornings Liz had been watching wrestling on TV and she decided that it was her calling to be a professional wrestler, which is cute in theorybut sometimes it could be a real pain. Like the time Bette came home completely exhausted from work and went to lie down for a little while and Liz decided she would practice her flying leaps onto her unsuspecting victimneedless to say, Bette was not too thrilled with that one. Neither Tina nor Bette was concerned about her interest in the full contact sport however, because they knew that eventually she would grow out of it and they wouldnt have to watch their back every time she came flying into the room. Or so they hoped.

Alice and Dana came in and the first thing Alice did was throw her bag down and scoop Liz up into a big hug. Then she turned her on her side and pretended to body slam her into the couch causing Liz to giggle like crazy and take off running towards her room. Alice was hot on her trail and left Dana and Tina watching in amusement and shaking their heads at the two big kids. Tina and Dana flopped down on the couch and made small talk for a bit before Alice and Liz reappeared with mischievous smiles on their faces. Alice whispered something to Liz who nodded yes and grinned at Dana. She took one more look at Alice before running full speed at Dana and knocked her back on the couch. At first Dana looked shocked but then she pretended to put up a fight but let Liz pin her down in the end. Alice counted to three like they do on TV and then grabbed Lizs arm and held it over her head to signal a victory and Liz beamed with pride. Tina was doubling over with laughter and she almost fell off the couch because she was laughing so hard.

Bette heard the commotion and she came stumbling into the living room rubbing her face a little as she tried to wake up. She took one look at the scene in front of her and shook her head as Liz ran over to her to hug her. Bette picked her up and smiled at her as Liz glowed with pride.

Wellthats because aunty Dana is a big softiemaybe you should try beating aunty Alice?

Alice took one look at Liz and shook her head NO. As much as she liked Liz and liked coming up with all kinds of hair brained ideas as to how her and Liz could cause troubleAlice knew Dana was much better with Liz than she was. Alice was scared that she might play too rough and hurt Liz so she decided to wait until Liz got a little older before showing her the ropes. Bette put Liz down and went over to Tina and kissed her forehead before going into the kitchen for some coffee. Tina was about three and a half months pregnant and Bette had never been so tired in her life. Between a three-year-old running around and a pregnant wife, Bette didnt know how she had the energy to function outside of the house. Luckily Tina was past the morning sickness phase and had moved on to the beginning of the hormonal imbalance stage so at least Bette knew Tina wouldnt be waking up as much in the middle of the night which meant she didnt have to wake up as much in the middle of the night. Bette got her coffee and went back to the living room to join the other four and try and wake up a little bit.

Liz was showing Alice the wrestling moves she had picked up from watching TV and Tina, Bette and Dana watched them with smiles on their faces. Tina watched Dana watching Alice and she nudged her while whispering softly.

Someone seems like they are ready for kids soon

Bette and Tina looked at each other before laughing at Danas truly surprised and anxious reply and Tina patted Dana on the hand to comfort her.

Dana furrowed her eyebrows together and turned back to Alice and Liz as Bette smiled at Tina and kissed her quickly on the lips. They watched the two kids play for a while before Bette said they better get going and an hour later Bette and Tina left Alice, Dana and Liz for the evening. As they were driving to the gallery Tina turned to look at Bette who was concentrating on either the road or staying awake, and Tina had a feeling it was more the second one than the first. She reached out and put her hand over Bettes like she used to and Bette turned to her with a surprised smile on her face. Tina smiled back and leaned back in her seat contentedly. Bette squeezed her hand and gave her another smile.

Bette smiled at Tinas remark and squeezed her hand again. Tina sighed happily and Bette let out a little giggle at Tinas happy state. Tina turned with one eyebrow cocked and a smile on her face.

Something funny babe?

NoI was just thinking how nice it is to be just us again. Not that I would give Liz up for anythingbut sometimes I miss it just being us you know?

YeahI do. But think about it this way babein six months it wont just be us. Liz will have a brother or sister and we really wont ever have time alone again.

Bette pretended to groan a little and Tina slapped her playfully. Bette caught her hand as Tina was about to hit her again and kissed her palm before biting it gently. Tina laughed and shook her head.

Bette! Were gonna be there in twenty minutes

Tina laughed at Bettes nonchalant nature, but in all honesty, Liz had really taught Bette to not stress as much about the unimportant things in life and focus more on matters of the heart. Bette was still anal at work and about certain things around the house, but Tina saw a change in Bette that she knew only Liz was responsible for. Bette had learned about what was important to her and Tina was so happy to see Bette change for the better for their family.

Four extremely tiring and exhausting hours later Bette and Tina arrived home to find Alice and Liz passed out in the living room next to Dana who was watching TV and watching them sleep at the same time. She smiled hello to Bette and Tina before waking Alice up so they could let the others go to sleep. Bette carried Liz into her room and put her down without waking her up as Tina let Alice and Dana out and locking up the house so they could go to sleep as well. After they changed for bed Bette went to brush her teeth and came back to find Tina passed out on top of the covers wearing only a tank top and her underwear with a pair of shorts in her had. Bette smiled and shook her head before taking the shorts out of Tinas hand and pulling the sheets back so that she could tuck Tina in before getting into bed herself. She was pulling the blanket up Tinas legs when she noticed Tinas stomach. Tina had started to show earlier this time around and even Bette thought she was bigger at three months than she had been with Liz, but Dr. Wilson said everything was completely normal and both mommy and baby were healthy so Bette didnt worry. She sat down next to Tina and lifted her tank top a little to reveal the small bulge in her tummy. She put one hand on Tinas stomach before glancing up to make sure Tina didnt wake up and she leaned down to whisper softly to the baby.

Hey you in therethis is your mommywell your other mommy at least. I am so excited for you to come out and join us.but, and dont take this the wrong way, if you want to take your time thats okay with me toowe love you and cant wait to meet youbut dealing with your sister is tiring us out and we want to be nice and rested for when you get here okay? But dont worrywe will love you and your sister equallyas long as you dont take after your mommys stubborn qualities OUCH.

Bette rubbed her head where Tina had smacked her and smiled up at Tina with a guilty look on her face. Tina had woken up when she heard Bette talking to the baby and she was listening quietly until Bette made the crack about her being stubborn. Tina shook her head in a scolding way at Bette who gave Tina her best puppy dog eyes causing Tina to roll her eyes and give in as she patted Bettes head mockingly. Bette shook Tinas hand off and turned back to her tummy.

Bette and Tina looked up to see Liz standing in the doorway rubbing her eyes. She went over and sat down next to Bette and patted Tinas stomach like Bette was doing. She looked at Bette and Tina then to Tinas stomach then back to Bette.

Mommy why are you talking to her tummy?

Im talking to the baby inside her stomach honeyyoure getting a sister or brother soon so youll be the big sister you know

Liz beamed at Bettes comment even though Tina was pretty sure she had no idea what being a big sister meant. Liz looked at Tina expectedly.

Bette smiled at Tina when Liz bent down and got really close to Tinas stomach. She poked at Tina a little before whispering in a barely audible voice.

Bette looked at Tina and she laughed. Liz could be such a crack up sometimes and Bette loved her for it. Tina smiled at them with a look of complete happiness on her face but she had only one thought running through her headOh no here we go again
