    Jess ran to the dug out and grabbed her phone. She dialed Bette’s phone.

    A Remote Mountain Range in Europe

    Bette’s phone rang through the ruble of the plane.

     

     

     

     

     


    2 weeks later

    Jess is standing in front of the sink getting ready to go. She is wearing a black sleeveless dress that stops just above her knees. Her hair is in curls. Tears run down her face when the phone rang just two weeks ago saying that Bette’s plane had disappeared and then the one four days ago saying that the search had been canceled due to a late blizzard and there no likely survivors. Jess heard sniffles behind her.

    Ian and Teddy were standing in her room with their shoes and ties in hand.

    "I thought Shane and Dana were helping you get ready." Jess asked. Shannon stood in the door way.

    "They were, but every time they look at us they start crying." Teddy said.

    "Can you help us?" Ian asked quietly.

    "Yeah come here." Jess said. She was trying to be strong but she had cried herself to sleep every night for the past two weeks.

    She helped Teddy tie his tie, and then Ian. They normally wore the clip on ones but Bette had bought them these ties at Christmas calling them their first big boy ties.

    Shannon comes in dressed in a similar dress as Jess except hers has sleeves.

    The gang had spent every day and night at the house. Tina hadn’t been able to do anything with out bursting into tears. Every time she looked at her five children she saw Bette in some form which she tried to hide, but Jess and Shannon knew exactly why She burst into tears when she looked at them or heard their voice.

    The Memorial Service

    The gang sat with Tina and the kids in the biggest auditorium at the college. It was full and there were people waiting out side. Ian sat in Jess’s lap and Teddy in Shannon’s. They sat on either side of Tina. Alice sat next to Shannon and Melvin, Kit and Angus were next to Jess. Kit held Angelica. Tina could barely hold herself much less a fussy 18 month old. The boys sucked on their thumbs and leaned back on their sisters.

    5. Thank goodness, you did not let her die. Now will they just find the damned telephone so she can call someone. They must find her soon so Tina will not go completely off the deep end. Thanks.

    8. im loving the drama! humm why do i feel that things will get worse with Jess and Tina?? :P Just dont take too long to bring back Bette! oh and i missed Laurie in this chapter…will jess let her in?.

    9. God, you made me cr so hard. It kills me to read what is going on there. This is more drama that i can handle. At least make Tina & Jess console each other. More, soon.

    11. Jesse thinks she has lost the one person she could count on,she lost her Dad.now thinks she lost her Mom. Tina is in such a state that normally she would never slap one of the children. She will come to her sense and realize what she did. thanks for letting us know that Bette is alive. thanks
