Living In Entropy (Chaos) – L.I.E. – 02.13 – Mistakes
The blonde tip toed into the small beach house and she saw her red headed friend lying in the sun, wearing barely a thing. She had a pair of dark sunglasses perched on her nose, as she seemed to be sleeping or at least resting.
She smiled she looked very appealing that way, she hefted the bag of magazines that she’d asked her for. She dropped the bag at the door silently and dove fully clothed into the pool. Ah, cool water and a hot body, what a combination.
“OH!” The red head laughed as she saw her companion had arrived, watching her swim to the opposite side of the pool, and then back again. They didn’t need to talk, they’d met a few months before, and they’d clicked. First as friends then as more, but neither of them was prepared to specify what the ‘more’ was. It was a wide-open relationship, and both of them relished in that.
They’d both lost loves in different ways, of course, but they were broken souls who needed time to heal. The scars though were deep and obvious to anyone who looked at either of them.
“You are back did you have fun?” The red head laughed, and the blonde shook her hair out, and nodded as she wiped the water from her eyes.
“It was good, I think I’ll stick to Cedars, General wasn’t up to par for me. Cedars has a wonderful staff, and the action! Fucking great! Loved every mind boggling-ly tiring moment of it. I might not be able to work too much but hell I can play in the triage room” She grinned and she splashed her friend who wagged a threatening finger at her.
“When are you going back?” The red head asked the sun lighting up her face as she spoke. She licked her lips as the blonde looked extra sexy after having put in a few hours of work, and there she was in her work clothes swimming in the pool. She was incorrigible.
“Two weeks I’m per diem.” Explained the blonde turning around in the water, doing lazy circles in the warm water.
“Which means?” Came the sarcastic response and the blonde laughed at the tone.
“When I want, where I want, who I want?” A burst of sexy giggled from her red headed companion. Silky and easy voice that just lit you up when you listened to her timbre, she loved her voice, her eyes, her lips and most definitely those hands.
“Do you have any idea how great you are? Hmmm? I have never been so relaxed, and well taken care of in my life. You are a goddess.” The blonde scoffed diving under, pulling her clothes off, and throwing them to the side of the pool, letting the warm water cool her now naked body. She said nothing she didn’t take compliments very well, so she said nothing at all.
“How long can I stay?” Red asked, the blonde turned and drifted over to the edge of the pool, she shrugged. Meeting the red heads hazel eyed gaze.
“Forever? Then a day.” More giggling and the red head got off the chair, she lay on her stomach, and they were now nose-to-nose. The blonde kissed her softy, her wet hand finding the back of her neck, the rainbow colored link bracelet the only thing she was wearing at the moment, besides the smile.
“I am so falling in love with you. Little baby steps that are leading me right into your heart.” The red head said and the blonde wiggled her eyebrows, kissing her again. Their tongues touching gently, and the red head pushed her companion under the warm water, standing up and going to get the magazine’s that she’d asked for. They were playful at all times, they’d never been ‘serious’ with each other. Deep meaningful conversations were just normal for them, as they’d gotten to know each other.
“I got a few you didn’t ask for.” The blonde called going to the far end of the pool and she started to do laps. She usually did 50 a day, if she was feeling lazy. The exercise was good for her heart and she needed everything advantage she could get. The red head grinned, and sat down to read. She pushed her sunglasses back on, and began to read. About twenty minutes later, she let out a yell.
“OH MY GOD!” The blonde stopped swimming and she turned in the water to face her.
“For the love of fuck, what?” Came the grunted response of the blonde, and the red head was shaking her head venomously.
“We have to get to L.A.! Right now, now, now, and now!” She got up from the chair, knocking it over as she did. The magazine falling to the ground and the blonde swam to the edge, pulling herself up easily and she bent, grabbing the magazine. The wind was blowing, and LA Magazine’s pages were flipping from back to front. She saw what had upset her, and she knew why it was upsetting.
“She’s getting married!” The blonde yelled and the red head popped her head out of the bedroom, having already put on a pair of jeans and a sexy black shirt.
“The hell she is, I won’t let her. There is no way that, that bitch is her soul mate, I have to stop Dana fucking Fairbanks from making the biggest mistake of her life!” The blonde scoffed old flames, what ever to do about them? She walked to the cabana, leaving little puddles of water in her wake, there were going to L.A. In a big way, watch out Dana, you are in for it, red heads have a temper.
“Hadta buy L.A. Magazine, didn’t you? Sure, wanted to see Alice‘s byline. You doff.” The blonde grunted she came face to face with hurricane red head.
“Are you coming?” The red head asked standing at the door already and the blonde put her hands out and she looked down, her naked body glistening in the sun.
“Can I get dressed?” Came the sarcastic response from the blonde.
“You look fine that way, but I think the pilot might mind if you are naked, so hurry up, and get dressed!” The red head pointed to the bedroom, and the blonde shook her head slowly from side to side.
“Oh lordy.”

“Nessa!” Alex yelled it was well passed 8pm, and she heard soft grunting from the bedroom. She grunted herself and heard people running around in the bedroom, her voice having broken the erotic spell.
Alex chuckled getting a soda from the fridge and an athletic young man come out of the room, wearing just a towel. He was handsome as sin, and Alex gave him the once over. Oh yeah, he was cute. She wondered if this was the swim coach.
“Umm, hi. I’m Tim, Tim Haspel.” He said, extending his hand, trying to act normal and the towel dropped and Alex burst out into laughter. She chuckled harder as Tim grabbed at the towel and Vanessa came out of the room, wearing Tim‘s shirt, she kissed his blushing cheek. Standing on tiptoes to do so, she met Alex‘s eyes and they were dancing with delight.
“She’s seen one before you know.” Vanessa quipped and Alex turned away, laugh very hard now, she grabbed a chair and sat down. Tim excused himself and Vanessa sat down across from her sister who looked tired but her eyes were still lucid.
“Sorry big sis, I didn’t know you were going to be home, I heard what happened today, are you ok? You were like the big talk at Milk earlier. You are going to be one wanted woman, but are you sure you are cool?” Vanessa asked grabbing Alex‘s hand and Alex nodded. Vanessa worried a lot about her and she had a right too, since Alex was seemingly always in danger. Alex kissed Vanessa‘s hand and it took Vanessa back, Alex hated to touch people, she avoided shaking hands, and hugs seemed to suffocate her.
“Yeah, I’m good. I was gonna ask if you wanted to go have a late dinner, but I can see you were having dessert.” Alex said sternly and Vanessa slapped her hand playfully, not wanting her to let go. It felt wonderful to have Alex feeling comfortable with herself again.
“I’m gonna go…” Tim stammered as he walked out of the bedroom, where he’d retreated too. He was pulling a tee shirt over his chiseled torso, and Alex waved her hand.
“Oh hey no. Don’t go, please? You’ve been here four times now, and that is a record did you know that? You are like a familiar face now I sort of like it. Vanessa you are settling down.” Alex quipped, pinching Vanessa‘s nose and Vanessa slapped her sister’s arm and Tim licked his lips embarrassed. His eyes darting around the room.
“No, you know I should be going…” He stammered again and Alex gave him a stern look, the look a cop can give you when they catch you going 100mph in a 25mph speed zone.
“OK! Sit!” Alex ordered and Tim tried to not smile she was cute, for a lesbian. He sat down and Alex got up, bent down and kissed Vanessa on the cheek.
“Cook the boy something, he looks starved. I’m gonna go take a ride, how about dinner tomorrow night? You cook or order out?” Alex asked and Vanessa nodded as Tim reached over and took her hand into his gently. He genuinely liked Vanessa, she was honest, sexy and family was important, she absolutely wouldn’t do anything to hurt Alex.
“Can I invite someone over too?” Vanessa asked shyly and Alex nodded, Tim blushed. He met Vanessa‘s eyes and she looked away, blushing also, the red in her cheeks making her look even younger than she really was.
“I’d be honored to get to know you Alex, Vanessa has told me a lot about you.” Tim said turning and looking at Alex. A big smile plastered in his handsome face Alex blinked, and she wasn’t one to make jokes.
“Pity all I know about you is you have a huge cock.” Alex said slapping Tim on the back and walking out the front door, leaving Tim opened mouthed and Vanessa putting her head on the table and shaking it; not really believing that Alex had said that.

“Shane?” Bette asked into the phone and Shane said into her phone on the other side of the alley. She was standing on her toes scanning the huge crowd looking for her friend.
“Yeah Bette? Where are you?” Shane asked and Bette smiled she couldn’t see Shane, they were at a new club on the outskirts of the city. It was called Twilight, there was a sister club in San Francisco and it was a very hot spot. Known for being different and always filled with sexy women.
“I am way in back, Shane are we going to be able to get in? This place must be so packed.” Bette said she was dressed in a killer suit, jacket, and sleeveless shirt under with a pair of ass hugging pants. She looked around trying to see Shane over the sea of people.
“Trying to get in?” Jo Wheaton asked from just a few feet behind Bette and Bette blinked at Jo. The FBI Agent from earlier what was she doing here? And with the most gorgeous blonde that Bette had ever laid eyes on. Bette instantly hoped that the blonde wasn’t with Jo. Amy wrapped her arms around Jo, and they seemed to be talking without using words. Bette shrugged there were other women in the sea.
“Um, Agent Wheaton.” Bette stammered and Shane was asking her on the phone what she was saying and Amy pointed to Shane over Bette‘s shoulder. She has seen Shane instantly; she was hard to miss, dressed to kill.
“I’ll go get her.” Amy whispered into Jo‘s ear and Jo extended a hand and Bette took it. Shaking it as Jo said with an accent that was sweet to Bette‘s ears over the din in the alley.
“Jo is fine so you want to get into this place or what?” Jo asked and Bette nodded, a small smile gracing her face as Jo took her hand and led her to Amy and Shane. Amy was talking to Shane and Shane was smiling at the blonde that she’d slept with only weeks before.
“Hello Jo, what are you and the lady love doing here tonight? Out on the prowl?” Shane asked and Jo‘s eyes flashed as Amy leaned in and kissed her. Bette watched them kiss and the easiness between the two of them. She remembered that feeling like you were a total part of someone, like she and Tina had been. That had been a lifetime ago.
“Let’s go.” Jo said gently easing them towards the back of the club, Bette cocked an eyebrow and Shane shrugged she wasn’t going to pass up the opportunity to get inside. Other people brushed passed them, men, and women alike.
“Um, this is a private entrance…” Bette interjected she didn’t want to put Jo down or anything. Jo laughed putting her hand to the palm scanner then swiping a key card through the slot and the door popped open. Jo held it open for Bette, Shane and Amy, who was giggling like a schoolgirl at the look on the other two’s faces. As Bette passed Jo, Jo said.
“Easy to get in when you own the place, Oui?” Bette stopped short Shane slammed into her, Shane gave Bette a look, and then she looked at Jo and asked.
“You serious man? That’s so cool, I know the owner of Twilight.” Shane brushed past Bette and Amy put an arm around Jo, and Bette tilted her head, regarding the FBI agent oddly. How did an FBI agent afford to open a club of this magnitude? It was easily a 3 million dollar endeavor.
“Seriously?” Bette stepped into the club with Jo right behind her, and Amy was nuzzling Jo‘s neck with her soft lips.
“As a heart attack. Go have fun after today we all deserve it.” Jo said and she let the door swing closed and Bette followed them out onto the main dance floor. She could tell that they were in love; just by the way they moved with one another, Bette envied that.
The building looked simple on the outside but the inside was another matter all together, it was enormous. Three levels of space, the main dance floor with a bar on either end. The main floor was lit in blues and purples as women of every walk of life grinded and danced against each other.
The second floor, that had four different sets of stairs to get up into were balcony like, with tables scattered about and scantily clad men and women serving drinks. This level was lit with red’s and pinks, soft neon giving the feel of it being surreal. There were also pool tables from what Bette could see.
The third level was encased in glass they were private suites for parties, and groups of friends to play. You had to play a huge amount of money to ‘rent’ out a room for a night, but there was a lot of money to be spent in LA. You were given a card to swipe to go up into the third level the single staircase had a light green neon light above it, ‘Stairway To Heaven’. Bette stood and took it all in, Jo and Amy disappeared from her side and Shane was already hitting on someone at the bar.
“I am so a fish out of water.” Bette said to herself under her breath, then the music changed and she smiled. She could do this, she was still a hot woman, and she was, as Dana might say, Crispy. She pushed Crystal out of her mind and she let the music take her, her hips swaying sexily. No one commanded her tonight, tonight she was Bette Porter, huntress.
She decided to walk around for a while she saw Amy talking to Shane, and easy arm thrown over Shane‘s shoulder. Shane had a grin from ear to ear as Amy walked away, and Bette felt a hand on her shoulder just then she turned to see Jo standing there. Jo was playing with something in her quick hands.
“There are 12 suites up there the 1st one is reserved for me and my little circle of friends. You have this card and you can get up in there any time you want.” Jo handed her a transparent card, with the word ‘Heaven’ engraved in a dark gold and her name was on it also.
“Um.” Bette began and Jo smiled then throwing her a wink; she walked away into Amy‘s arms as they began to dance and Bette slipped the card into her front pocket. They were an interesting couple, she saw Shane moving around the room.
Shane the shark, she was out for blood tonight, Bette saw as she moved to another woman. Shane had been trying, without success to bed down Carmen again. Carmen was having none of it, she wanted a relationship and Shane was the women with no plan, and she liked it that way.
Bette then spotted Dana and Tonya in the far corner, nuzzling, and making out in a booth. Two days before the wedding just two days. How quickly the time passed here in LA. Bette headed in the opposite direction, she didn’t want Dana giving her the 3rd degree tonight, and she wasn’t up for that.
Bette watched Shane some more as she moved around the room, commanding it with her mere presence, women looking at her with desire. Shane had a beer in hand and was sipping from it, and even that was sexy. Bette had always found Shane utterly attractive, but had never had a desire to sleep with her. Of course, not she and Tina had been the beacon of hope for Shane, that someday she to would have a solid relationship. How the mighty have crumbled.
Bette remembered when she could do that, walk into a room and command it with just a look. She saw her just then, the woman she thought she might have her way with this evening.
She was tall her skin a translucent dark hue of caramel, and Bette walked over to her, she let the jacket fall from her shoulders and she stepped up to the bar where the woman was leaning. She was gorgeous, and Bette let her stare swallow her in, liking her shoulder length hair, and the way she stood at the bar. The purple lights make her look even sexier in her casual dress of black jeans and a pure white top.
“I’m Bette.” The woman turned and looked her over, smiling a bit. Bette like the feeling that she got when the woman check her out, the heat was welcoming. She was desirable, and she knew it.
“I’m Rayne.” She said extending her hand and Bette took it, smiling at it’s softness and Bette ordered a drink as did Rayne. Bette found herself falling into the dark almond shaped eyes, they were mesmerizing. They were about the same height, but Rayne was slightly shorter as they stood hip to hip at the bar.
“I’d ask if you come here often, but that’s a pick up line and the place only opened tonight.” Rayne smiled at the line that Bette had just offered up and Bette liked the way she smiled, she was reeling her in. Bright and very sexy, Bette thought that Rayne was a very sexy woman indeed.
“I don’t come to town often, I’m a literary agent and four of my clients are in LA for a meeting this week. I tagged along, might as well it is their dime after all.” Rayne said, and Bette listened to the soft accent in her voice.
“Where are you from?” Bette asked, letting her fingers trail down Rayne’s arm, and she felt the goose bumps rising there as she found her hand. Bette‘s fingers slowly rubbing circles in the palm of Rayne’s hand.
“New York, you are LA girl I take it?” Rayne asked and Bette simply nodded, she pushed the drink aside, leaned into Rayne’s ear and whispered.
“Want to dance?” Rayne was led to the dance floor, and suddenly there was no one there but she and Bette. Bette took her into her arms, pressing against her as the hard pounding beat over took them, and Bette leaned into her and whispered into her ear again, her voice dropping a few decibels, making it huskier.
“What are your clients doing in LA? For work I take it?” Rayne smiled, nodding as she did and Bette wrapped her arms around her, pulling her a bit closer.
“They wrote script for a TV show, looks like they are getting picked up. I came with them to hash out the details. Blu, Katey, Windy and Rogue are very excited about it. I am to for that matter, I do get a percentage.” Rayne smiled impishly, she was all about pleasure tonight, and business was the last thing on her mind since Bette had walked up to her.
“I like details…” Bette said, she took Rayne’s hand and pulled her towards the stairway, and Rayne followed, watching as Bette swiped the card and held the door open for Rayne, who was licking her lips. Bette leaned in, pulling her close and kissing her rather wantonly, and she moved her mouth down her chin and to her neck. She made her way to her ear and traced the rim with her tongue.
“Come to heaven with me.” Bette said in a throaty voice, and Rayne’s eyes flashed and she followed Bette upstairs to bliss.

Sam sat at Twilight, waiting for her date and she hadn’t shown up. Jo had sent her an invite, she called her friend, and she’d been a bit frazzled about what was going on as of late. She was having a bad time, so Sam was giving her some space. That had been the agreement, and Sam was sure she was going to regret the choice, but it was all in the hands of the fates now.
She hoped that she was ok, but she’d know when she got home, she always called her, no matter what. Not like it had been a real date to begin with. She looked at her watch, the green background shimmering in the pulsing lights of the bar.
“Mind if I have a seat?” The tall brown haired woman asked, motioning to the empty seat. Sam shrugged, waving at the chair; she was the twenty fifth people to ask the same question tonight. Sam wasn’t in the mood to play, but she just wasn’t a rude person.
“I’m Tonya, and you’d be?” She asked, offering her slim hand and Sam looked her over, she was cute enough. Her date, on the other hand, was much sexier. She also wasn’t there yet. Where were you? Are you with you know who? You most likely were, Sam sighed.
“Sam, Samantha Vance. I should tell you, I’m not looking for anything, was just looking around the place.” Tonya smiled, seeing Dana emerging from the bathroom, but she didn’t see her with the tomboy, yet. They were in a very far booth, and the young tomboy had been nursing the same drink most of the night.
“Contradiction in your words. What were you looking for or at?” Tonya asked in a sexy voice. She moved closer to Sam, making her presence known.
“Women, bone structure, hair color, skin tone.” Sam said lightly, her pager vibrating at her hip and she looked down. Grunting at the number, it was of the hotel that meant that she was at the hotel. It also meant that she was upset, damn it.
“Interesting, do you have a place Doctor?” Tonya asked, and Sam shook her head, and stood. She wasn’t going to waste her time, she was going to that hotel and tell her that she needed to give it up, it was lost.
“Actually I was just paged, and I should get going, another time Tonya.” Sam offered, and Sam turned, digging into her pocket for her keys. She’d call Jo later and tell her that she’d gone, but couldn’t stay. She’d wanted to see Jo and Amy for that matter and see how the two of them were doing. “Perhaps.” Sam walked away, she bumped into an androgynous looking woman with the sexiest hair she’d ever seen, and she excused herself. Not having meant to slam into her in her rush to find the door.
“No problem man.” She said and Sam had to do a double take, wow, that was a voice. Shane turned and looked at the woman talking away, nice ass she though to herself. She walked to her car and as she got into her Porsche, she wondered how that woman had known she was a doctor?

Empty chairs all stationed
At the table once filled with friends
Shattered lives scattered them about
Mistakes made in eloquent harmony
Did she think about her actions
Before she took them
A kiss
Spur of the moment
Doubts now to be had
One touch
Shattered it all
One look, was all it took
Lies uncovered, truth finally told
Lives ripped beyond repair
New found friendship
Blossoming into things never meant to be
Teetering on the brink
Can happiness be
Right over the abyss
Emotions finally unleashed
Only to be thrown back
Unwanted and crushed
Feeling are for the weak ones
Lock them up and throw away the key
Empty chairs all stationed
At the table once filled with friends
Shattered lives scattered them about
Mistakes made in eloquent harmony
