    Lost In Love Chap24

“Bye”  Angelica continued to focus on her breakfast.

Bette walked around the table to Tina.  “And you…”  She gave her a long kiss.  “I will see tonight.  Even though I have NO idea what we’re doing.”

“You’ll find out soon enough.  I’ll see you tonight.”  Tina smiled up at Bette.

Bette sat down on the couch in Donna Milner’s office.  It seemed like a long time since she had been here.

“So,” Donna started, “How are you doing today?”

“Really good.”  Bette sat back and looked at the woman.  “We had a really good night last night, Tina and I.”

    “What do you mean?”

“We talked some more, just kind of checking in to make sure we’re doing okay.  We talked about how we used to just have sex instead of talking about things.  We agreed to work on that.”  Bette looked at her hands.  “I told her that I was afraid that we’d stop talking once we made love, and that I want both an emotional and physical connection.”

Bette looked over at Donna.  “Do you mind if I stand and walk a little?  I’m a little antsy.”

    “Sure.  Make yourself comfortable.”

Bette stood and walked across the room.  She stopped and studied the artwork adorning the therapist’s office. She turned and looked at Donna.  “I don’t know how long I can wait to make love to her.  I want her so much.  Is that crazy?”

“I don’t think so.”  Donna studied Bette’s face.

Bette began to pace.  “I mean, I’m supposed to still be getting over what she did, right?  But she tore down all of my defenses.  She ripped down walls faster than I can put them up.”

“Bette, has anyone else ever had that effect on you?”  Donna had a feeling that she already knew the answer to her question.

“No.  There’s something about Tina.  It’s like she can see through me.  Through the pain, the anger, the bullshit…”  Bette walked to the couch and sat down.  She leaned forward and looked intently at Donna.  “It’s like she accepts me for who I am.  I don’t have to pretend or put on an act for her.  Her expectations are clear.  Or they used to be.  Well, it feels that way again.  Like I know what she wants from me.”
