“We both are.  Now if you will excuse me, I have to rest.”  Bette said as she closes the door leaving a stunned Mimi.  No player has ever turned her down before.  Even the ones with girlfriends.  Mimi is one of those fans that follows certain teams throughout the season looking for flings with ballers.  There are a handful of these women that are known around the league.  One of Bette’s team mates did tell her to watch out for groupies but Bette did not know how bold they are.

Bette knows she has to tell Tina but she is scared of how her girlfriend will react.  She decides to tell her after the game.  Her head needs to be in the game.

USC:

Tina is getting ready to watch Bette’s game on TV.  She expected to hear from Bette before the game like always but there was no call or text.  She is not happy but she brushed it off and decides to just watch the game and wait for Bette to call her after.

The Liberty lose the game by 10 points but Bette has a good game.  Tina is proud of her girlfriend and is relieved when her phone rings about 30 minutes after the game.

“Hey babe.”  Tina answered with a smile in her voice.

“Hey sweetie.  Did you see the game?”

“What do you think?”

“Yeah?”

“Of course I did.  It was on ESPN after all.  Sorry you guys lost.”

“Thanks.”

“You did well though.”

“I did.”

“B what’s wrong?”

“Why do you think something is wrong?”

“Because I  know you B, so tell me.”

Bette takes a deep breath before explaining to Tina what happened with the groupie the night before.

“So what happened?”  Tina asked wanting to cut to the chase.  If Bette did something with the woman, she wants to know.

“I just told you what happened.”  Bette answered somewhat hurt at Tina’s implication.

“I know you did.  What else happened Bette?”

“Nothing Tina.  I told her I was with you and sent her on her way.”

“So this woman just ‘pops up’ at your door?  How did she know what room you were in?”

“I don’t know T, maybe she figured out what floor we were on and just knocked on a few doors.  Apparently, she is known around the league and I guess she has her ways of getting info on the players.”
