Bette woke up early to do her favorite thing. Watch Tina sleep. It was a bliss. Thats what it was. Bette always thought Tina looked angelic as she slept. She read her as if she was trying to figure what Tina was dreaming abouther frowns, smile, her breathing, her soft features, tangled hair.Oh yes, it was bliss.

It was an hour before she got up and went out to buy Tina roses. Bette was careful to watch out when she left the house. She hadnt forgotten the promise she made to Shane. She bought some red roses, bagels and fresh vanilla latte. She wanted to do everything she had thought she would doonce and if Tina comes back home. Bette knew she wanted to do all thisbut never found time for it…she worked. Now, she knew that work could wait. She knew her priorities.

Tina woke up lazily trying to feel Bette on her sideshe managed to open her eyestrying to hearBettes footstepsnope.smell coffeenothing! She again thought about how little was Bette sleeping as she got into the bathroom. As she pulled out her toothbrush.she read the note.

Tina giggled. She took a quick bath and as she stepped out she heard some noises. She quickly put on her shorts and her T-shirt thinking to herselfWhats the hurry Kennard? Calm down! As she peeped in the kitchen she saw Bette.again realizing how thin had Bette becomelaying out the breakfast. Tina could smell the roses, almost taste the coffee and she could breathe Bettes love.all in the air. Bette was dressed in her tank top and jeansthat use to once fit her well. Tina thought Bette still looked very ***** in it. She stood their watchingthinkingsoaking Was I so much in love before this week? Look at her.shes mineshes my wife.preparing breakfast.all ***** and in love with me.What was I thinking? Tina had started to look down and was so engrossed she didnt hear Bette coming to her side.

Looking at Tinaso lostBette stood in front of her and leaned into the door frame to face herwhispering and startling TinaT? Hey! The moment Tina realized Bette was standing in front of her she jumped into her, tightly holding her. Bette pulled out of embrace and took Tinas face in her hands: What is it baby? Tina looked up nodding as if to saynothing.and saying: I love you Bette! It came out like a childs declaration of a hidden secret. Innocent and honest. Bette was not convinced though.she had known Tina for seven years. She gave her a tender, questioning glance. Tina sighed and then said: How will I ever let you go away to work tomorrow? I am so scared to be without youBette pulled her again into her hold as she heard Tinas voice drop into a choking whisper.

Bette made Tina sit on the table and hugged her again. Then she affectionately spoke, rubbing Tinas arms: Baby, I wont go anywhere if you dont want me to. I have been miserable without you. What makes you think Ill go the damn gallery when now you want me to be with you. And even when we are ready to drag ourselves to work.I promise you it will be different. No more late nights and lonely dinners. They both knew they had to start tomorrow but Tina just felt so happy knowing Bette would do practically anything for her.
They were exhausted from the days shopping. Tina was watching TV, stretched on couch with her head in Bettes lap. Bette was reading a book with her legs on coffee table. Tina turned off the TV and move her head between Bettes body and book to look up at her. Tina: BabeBette: hmm? Tina: I feel like everything is so new. Bette put her book down to give Tina her undivided attentiontucking her hair behind her ears. Tina: I meanits so familiar but so new.Bette knew what Tina meant. So, Bette whispered quietlyI knowI know. After looking into each-others eyes for some timeTina turned her head to lift Bettes T-shirt a little and buried her face in it to place small kisses that made Bette giddy with pleasure.
They knew they had to make the most of this night.and they did. After making loveTina watched Bette sleep. Till the very end and then she snuggled into her hearing Bettes faint whisper I love you.She knew shes ready for tomorrow.
