Tim suddenly became intrigued “Alright”
“This is obviously a very good opportunity for your career and I could still remember the excitement in your eyes when I first told you about my plans about acquiring that firm in LA but now I can sense your hesitation, would you mind me asking why?”
Tina could see the confusion in Tim’s face
“Or should I say, who is the reason why you now feel hesitant of moving to California?”
“I don’t understand your question Tina”
“Let me make it clear then, is Bette the reason why you are now having second thoughts of accepting the position that I am offering to you?”
“What does Bette have to do in me accepting that position in LA?”
“Well you told me that you find my new secretary interesting and moving to California means you won’t see her in a daily basis and as a beautiful woman that she is bees would be flying around her, if you know what I mean”
“Not that I have the obligation to tell you about whoever it is that I want to go out with and I know this firm doesn’t have any company policy against office dating but we’re friends and I want to be upfront with you Tina. Yes I like her very much and I think Bette’s a good woman and if she’ll let me I want to date her”
Tina felt like she was kicked in the gut but she was good in not showing any hint of emotion
“Does Bette like you?”
“I don’t know”
“C’mon Tim you’re a good looking guy, almost every woman in this building wants you to get into their pants, I’m pretty sure you know when a woman is interested in you”
Tim smiled “Thank you for the compliment but I don’t think I’m in the position to say if Bette likes me or not, I hope she does cause that would be really nice…”
Tina returned a small smile
“…one thing though that I can say…”
“What?”
“I’ve asked her to watch a play tomorrow evening”
Tina’s heart rate increased the moment she heard those words from Tim’s mouth
“And what did Bette say?”
“She said yes”

Ring…
“Good morning Tina Kennard’s office how may I help you?”
“Hi I want to order hams and eggs pizza, spaghetti and meatballs, calzones, Buffalo wings and French fries and what else can you recommend miss?”
“Haha that’s very funny Shane McCutcheon! Do you still have hangover from your birthday last night?” Bette said as she could hear her friend laughing on the other line
“Nope but I’m really excited right now”
“Why?”
“Well I’m on the road right now with Alice, Dana and Tasha, say hi to Bette guys!”
“Hey Bette!”
“Hello!” said Bette “Where the hell are you going Shane?”
“We are heading to watch NBA Finals in San Antonio Texas baby yeah!!!”
Bette had to move her ear away from the phone because of the loud scream from her four friends and at the same time she saw Tim exiting Tina’s office. The lawyer smiled at her and went straight to the elevator.
“Hey Bette are you still there?”
“Yes I’m here sounds you all four are having a great time huh?”
“Absolutely and I wish you are with us right now”
“Yeah me too”
“Maybe we can all go out of town one of these days what do you think?”
“Sounds like a plan”
“Yea lets plan that shit, anyway I don’t want the lady boss catch you chitchatting on the phone while working, just say hi to James for me and see you on Monday ok?”
“Yup see you and have fun!”
“We will my friend, we will!”
As if on cue the minute she put down the phone, Tina was seen coming out of her office wearing her dark sunglasses and her bag on her shoulder.
“James”
“Yes boss?”
“Why don’t you take an early lunch?”
“Ok”
“And Bette”
“Yes Ms. Kennard?”
“Get your things and I want you to come with me” the blonde said then walked towards the private elevator
“Sure ma’am!”
Bette immediately grabbed her things and followed her lady boss who was now waiting inside the elevator. Bette stepped inside then Tina closed the elevator door
“Where are we going Tina?” asked the brunette
“Somewhere familiar and please… don’t ask too many questions”

I’m not supposed to post this week but my most loyal readers are asking me to whip another chapter and who am I to deny them? LoL! This is not a long chapter but it’s better to have a short post than nothing right?

Wow, you just slip in a post and seek off. I’ve watching for your story all week and you give us a great but short taste. Tina needs to get some balls and admit her feelings to Bette. Did she break it off with Randall? I don’t like the idea that Angie is sneaking around behind Mollie’s back to talk to Tina. So many children are exploited by pedophiles that way. I know Tina would never hurt Angie but it does bother me. Thanks for the great update. Please post again soon.

I had the impression from the previous chapter that Tina was determined to solve all the problems that are accumulated, included Bette.
Seems impossible for Tina to move forward with Bette within the agreement .
And Bette is not helping anything.

Good to see your update. So Tina knows the reason she is hesitant to sleep with Bette, her fear of losing control. That is tough because her whole life is about control. She couldn’t control things when her sister died, so she only does things she can have control over. Her feelings for Bette are scary because it means giving Bette some control. I feel certain she broke up with Randall because of her feelings for Bette and because she felt she was losing control over him. He went to her parents behind her back and that freaked her out. Tina gave Tim a test to see how he felt about Bette and I think that shocked Tina that he turned down the offer to head a law firm to stay where Bette works. Tim being willing to turn down that big an opportunity is very telling. Tina is going to have to do something drastic to stop Tim from dating Bette. I would guess she will start by making Bette unavailable to go to the play with Tim, but how? How cool would it be for Tina to show up at Angie’s birthday party! Where are Tina and Bette going? Tina said some place familiar. To the lake house? Tina needs to gather her courage and admit her feelings for Bette. She will have to learn to trust Bette so she can give over a bit of that control she so tightly holds. That will be a difficult thing for Tina to do. I can’t wait for your next update, Phacey. Things are heating up now!

Smart of Tina to offer Tim a position away from Bette. I hope he takes it and moves away. My heart aches for Tina. She is so lonely. I wish Tina would talk to Bette and work on their friendship and move on from there.

I loved the encounter between Tina and Angie, the girl is already on way to Tina’s heart. I can not wait when Bette find out Angie and Tina have known each other.
though, you did not put it clear that Tina broke up with Randal, I really hope that she did!

Tina party to her feelings that is developed towards Bette, and because she lived her life that full control, she scared, that she lose it. Tina did not dare to approach Bette because she is afraid that her feelings will not be reciprocated. I hope Bette will be able to see, Tina really feeling toward her and Bette soothe her.
please, Tim accept the offer, after Bette told him that she only considered him as a friend!

Great chapter! It will be fun when Tina finds out that Angie is Bette’s daughter. More importantly, how will Bette react as she has been keeping home and office very separate. This is an intriguing story Phacey and you are telling it so well. Can’t wait for your next update (lucky 13!).
I feel for Tina shes lonely and i think she never experienced real love before even with her parents because of her dead twin sister. When she finally found the person that shes looking for(Bette) she bought her for sex not knowing that she’ll fall in love with her and now shes confused and scared to show her true feelings because of the nature of their relationshp. I dont know how you’re going to fix this phacey but you’re a great writer and i know that you’ll find a way for my 2 favorite characters. Ive always been a silent reader and yours is the only story that i currently follow since you stopped updating your other stories. I only have one complaint though, sometimes it takes an eternity to wait for a new post and when you do you always leave us hanging. I HATE IT but I LOVE IT.

I really hope Tina is taking Bette to that cabin to tell her how she really feels about her. Another great chapter is anyone else worried that’s twice in the matter of days molly has lost angie I know its fiction but it wouldn’t hurt molly talking to tina its not as if she know bettes arrangement with her im just saying I don’t like the idea of angie talking to strangers even though I realy like how tina and angie are getting along also im not liking the bette and tim relationship I want bette and tina to talk and tell each other how they are realy feeling pps.
The human mind is rarely quiet.. most of the time we’ve become so easily distracted by the hurrying demands of modern life, that we’ve temporarily lost touch with our natural state of being..
I feel for Tina.. Despite her economic status.. her wealth.. she seemed to be unsettled.. unfulfilled and incomplete.. In short, she’s living an unhappy life.. full of pressure.. full of stress. Good thing she decided to run to clear her head from everything that’s been bothering her.
Another way to quiet our minds, I think looking in the sky at night.. gazing at the moon and the stars works perfectly too. It will bring our awareness to what’s right above us instead of what’s going on in our head.
Speaking of mind, you Phacey have a very imaginative mind and every quality of it is written large in your works. Thank you for sharing it with us. Thanks for entertaining us with your wonderful stories.. Looking forward to your next update no matter how short it might be. Please keep writing..
