    “You can thank me later” She winks, as they pass each other without stopping.

    Bette was sitting at her desk in a trance, somehow managing to find two minutes to relax and let her mind drift. Two days had passed and she still hadn’t heard from the crazy blonde. She had however managed to pull a few strings and everything was back on track with the show. In fact she was feeling particularly confident, if things went to plan this could be one of her best yet.

    ‘She must have found somewhere to live, or maybe she went flat hunting on her own and got into trouble? No she promised. I hope she’s OK. I’m sure she’s OK.’ As Bette was pondering this, her mobile began to vibrate across the desk. She picked it up, perhaps more quickly than she’d care to admit. “Oh shit… Alice”.

    “Yes” Bette says with minimal enthusiasm.

    “Porter, you sound happy, what’s crawled up your arse?” Alice responds in her usual fashion.

    “Alice, what do you want?” Bette says, her patience with Alice always rather short.

    “Why is it you always think I ‘want’ something!“

    “Because you do. Busy Alice, what is it?” Bette responds, both of them enjoying their usual banter.

    “Rude. Well actually, I was thinking we haven’t all had a catch up in like ages, and that we should meet for dinner at The Planet tonight. What’d ya say? And don’t be lame Porter, I know you have your Show under control”.

    “Alice, we all had brunch on Sunday” Bette states, while logging back on to her computer to check emails.

    “Yeah that was like 4 days ago, so much has happened since then. Oh my god, guess who I ran into this morning –“

    “What time?” Bette asks, deciding accepting Alice’s invite would be the quickest way to get her off of the phone.

    “What? Yay! 7pm – and don’t be late Porter” Alice responds excitedly.

    “I’ll be there Alice.” Bette answers, now scanning down her inbox.

    “Right, as much as I’d love to talk all afternoon, I have important people see, and women to do!” Alice laughs at her own joke.

    “Ughh” Bette groans.

    “Oh you love it. Laterz!” Alice hangs up.

    ‘She’ll never change’ Bette grins. She scans down to an important email, popping it open and starts taking in the details. Just as she’s deep in concentration her phone begins to vibrate across the desk.
