    “Uh let’s see the southern slope, which has greater exposure to the sun are ideal for Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot varieties, which were initially planted in 1999. In 2003, Pinot Noir was also planted. The northern slopes on the other hand are planted with wide varieties- Pinot Gris and Chardonnay – which thrive on the slightly cooler side of the ridge”

    “Do you sell?” Bette queried

    “We sell one third locally since we don’t want to compete with the neighboring vineyards because it’s the main livelihood in this region. Most of it we export to the US, England and Australia” Helena answered

    “Is the vineyard business good?” the older Porter asked once more

    “After the costs I would say that it’s just breaks even. I told mum that we can buy the nearby vineyards since the land here are really good so we can export more but she doesn’t want to”

    “Darling the reason why your father bought this property was to serve the sole purpose of being our getaway when we’re tired of the crazy corporate world. Besides when I come here I don’t want to think about business, when I come here all I want to do is to relax and unwind”

    “I know mother but think about the great possibilities if we will expand our land here in Bergerac”

    “Helena we’ve talked about this a million times and my decision stays the same period”

    The Porter sisters could feel the sudden tension between the mother and daughter so Bette thought of something to ask to break it

    “So Peggy if you’re in the US, then Helena is the one managing this place?”

    “No Helena is also here for a vacation, I have people managing the property when we’re gone”

    Silence

    Helena had the feeling that the topic would go to her. She didn’t want the conversation going her way so she thought of steering the topic away from her then move it towards the Porters

    “So Bette and Kit, mum hasn’t mentioned yet where you two come from?” Helena asked then took a sip on her espresso

    “We’re from Shawnee, Kansas”

    Helena almost spit out the coffee that she was drinking when she heard that the Porter sisters were living in the same state where Tina was currently residing.

    Bette furrowed her brows “Are you alright? Did I say something wrong?”

    Helena wiped her mouth with the napkin “Oh no, no It’s just that I forgot that the coffee is hot but I’m fine”

    “You know Bette I haven’t been to Shawnee, maybe I’ll visit you one of these days” Peggy announced

    “That would be great and we’ll be glad to show you around” the caramel skinned beauty replied smiling

    “Shawnee has a beauty of its own and I’m confident that you’ll going to like it there too” Kit added

    Peggy smiled, excited at the idea of visiting the place of her new friends “Oh I’m sure I will”

    As the three women started planning about Peggy’s trip to the Porter’s hometown, Helena was having a conversation with herself in her mind

    ‘If Bette and Kit are from Shawnee, Kansas is it possible that they know Tina Kennard?’

    3. To answer ur question, i believe that no matter how bad a person is if that person really wantS to change then i think its possible. Its not going to be easy but if there’s a will then theres a way. This story has many details and i think only those who are really following this story would truly understand and appreciate. You always have my support hun and i can hardly wait 4 the next instalment! PPS!

    7. This story is so complex, but great. If I ever attempted anything like this…I don’t know if I would be able to finish it. There’s just so many details in this story. Btw…their dinner made me hungry, but it’s 5:22a where I am so I will refrain from eating that type of meal,but maybe later in the evening or maybe just plain old crispy pata…thanks for the update.

    13. I wanted to answer your question first before I read this. Yes, I believe that we can all change if given the right circumstances to want to do that. It’s people who surround us that don’t allow us to change that’s the hardest part of life. Reputation is a tricky thing…
