    I’ve got to abandon it
let me start all over again
    this couldn’t be the end
    there’s something I’ve got to say……

    Ch 12

“What is more important? The trip to get there? Or the path not taken?”

This is the surreal moment you hear about on Nightline. The announcer he says….

“You can’t believe its true, real life death experiences. Watch real people like you and me and hear their fantastic tales.”

This has to be the best kind of drug to keep you under during major surgery. It’s what I think when I come to. Not in my body but I feel like I see everything thru it anyway. It’s a wonderful life and all the other things put together. The air is warm, Florida on Thursday maybe in March type warm. I move to walk out but I am caught staring at the doctor using that laser thing to cut through me.

I notice the blood on my oxygen mask……the red I.V. I hope that is my blood type they are pumping into me. Nothing to be done so I take a walk. The sun turns into stars and the clothes I am wearing are not the same. It is like walking through to the other side….everything is different…..

I am me but I am not. Don’t know how I know but I know.

I turn the corner trying to find an exit when I see them. Both of them. The look like they have been here the whole night. They look like they are worried about me. In each others arms, legs practically entwined I can’t help but notice A. they are alive and B they are in love.

    “Mom…..Pop…wha…..” I ask but I don’t.

They both get up like a shot. Its all “Oh honey thank god you are alright. My baby when did they let you out, they were supposed to tell us.” And on and on.

“Shane you have to stop living like this….you are only going to get yourself killed.” My father says to me as I circle him and mom.

    1. Aaww I hope you feel better soon NDF. Damn, this is a crazy twist. Straight out of Shane’s nightmares. Good grief. I hope she doesn’t stay comatose for too long cuz having Shane lose her memory too would be well…I don’t even want to think it :p PPS…and feel better ;)

    2. Where’s that summary line from? Anywho, awesome update. Shane’s dream kind of creeped me out. And Carmen calling Havoc “Billy,” yeah, I think that creeped me out more than her kissing him. I would have been worried that it was a reality, had it not been for the “Nightline” guy. Oh, and sorry you’re feeling under the weather. Just take a couple vitamin C pills and have two or three shots of your drink of choice, then have a nice, looong good night’s sleep, uninterrupted. Works like a charm when I can’t afford to get sick (a girl’s gotta pay the bills and go to school on top of that, right?). Get well, and, again, awesome update.

    3. I love the twist in this story with Carmen being the one waiting for Shane to wake up. I am glad this is just one fucked up dream and not the real story! Hope you feel better!
