Music to my Ears (Chap 5)

“Hello Tina, nice to meet you” Shane said standing up from her seat and extending her hand to Tina.

“It’s nice to meet you too” Tina smiled slightly embarrassed by her earlier behaviour.

“So where you two off to?” Shane asked noticing that Bette picked up her coat.

    “Oh well…” Bette began.

“I invited her to dinner. Nothing fancy, I think we’re cooking Chinese tonight” Tina couldn’t help but smile as she watched Shane’s eyes widen slightly as she licked her lips. “Would you like to come?” Tina asked of Shane.

Shane glanced from Tina to Bette. Bette merely shrugged her shoulders before Shane eagerly shook her head yes.  She quickly turned and ran over to the closet to grab her own coat. “You know I really appreciate this” Shane yelled from inside the closet.

“I swear we do feed her” Bette whispered to Tina which caused her to laugh out loud.

Just as they were turning to head out the door, Kit blocked their exit. “Whoa, where is everyone going?” Kit laughed.

“Tina, this is my sister Kit. Kit this is Tina, she has invited us over for dinner” Bette said making the introductions.

“And of course you are more than welcome to join us” Tina added smiling at Kit.

“We’re having Chinese” Shane added with a huge smile across her face causing the rest of the group to laugh at her enthusiasm.

“Well if I’m not intruding…” Kit began.

“Of course not, the more the merrier” Tina laughed over her shoulder as she was escorted out the door by Bette.

Eventually the ladies were off and heading back towards the dental office.

“So this is my dental practice” Tina said turning and gesturing towards the building before them, “I just live upstairs” she finished opening the front doors.

“This is very nice” Kit said looking around the waiting room.

    “Oh it’s nothing” Tina said.

Bette couldn’t help but smile as she watched the blonde blush a little.

Just then Meghan came running into the room quickly followed by Alice eagerly hoping to hear what Tina had been up to. Both ladies were in for a shock of their lives.  They came to a dead stop when they saw the band standing before them.

    1. That was truly funny. Alice and Megan provided humor and then Bette and Shane added to that with the fly catching exercise. Even Kit got into the game while learning how to use the chop stickes. Then there is Tina all calm and collected. Is dinner served yet?

    2. LMAOOO Wash On, Wash Off! Excellent piece of writing, providing laughs and fun at just the right places. I think this was much more than just a filler, and looking forward to more. PPS

    3. Good that B&T are ok. That was so funny and cute. Only Bette Porter can do everything, she have a lot of talents. I gonna get my chopsticks to catch a fly just like Bette lol. The Karate Kid moive is good. Anyway please post soon, thanks!

    4. Ok, I’m in for a dinner but I need to see the original list of requirements to ensure your compliance! LOL. Plus, I’ll have to add a few of my own…

    5. ROFLMAO…!!!!!!!!! I would have imagined anything but that!… You keep surprising me everytime! Only one Bette Porter could possess the talent of a karate master! LOL!… Nice K, very nice!!! And thanks by the way, once again you proved yourself with CLASS!!!

    6. BEGINNER LUCK !!! Wow, this was absolutely hilarious, Miss K. In fact, you know what ? Chopsticks do remind me of “The karate kid” too. It seems we all have the same cultural references, eh ? Well, I’m glad you didn’t have to use that other quote from the movie ” wax on, wax off, wax on, wax off ” though. And this will be your bext challenge ! Just kidding, just kidding, don’t worry. LOL !! Anyway, back to the “real” challenge… Well, I hope you don’t consider your “mission” to be accomplished, eh ? I mean, this was hardly a “romantic dinner”, now was it ? I mean, ” hello ! ” Alice was there !!! I understand that people may have different concept of “romantic”, but only to some extent, right ? LOL !! Well, I have to run since I’m supposed to work ( not everybody is off today. Lol !!! ) but hopefully I’ll be able to comment further later. This was great, K, and your protagonists did make progress toward the “goal”. It wasn’t just a filler as you said. I loved it.

    7. This scenario has so much potential. It’s great to see B/T in different roles. Loved the inside “Karate Kid” reference. Thanks for writing!

    8. They are so f-ing cute together ;) B&T I mean, maybe Alice will start to see them as real people with feelings instead of a story she has to get at any cost. Hopefully they will get to know each other a little better after the concert so they cam get on with the romance.
