My love, My Life, My soul…my Forever Ch. 22

Tina’s body fell to the side so she was lying fully on the floor as she sobbed. She wanted to tell Bette the truth, but not like this. She hated that she hurt the person she loved the most.

    ****************************************

She knew the speed limit was only 65mph but she didn’t care. She knew the car could easily go 90mph and she was determined to make sure the car went as fast as it possibly could within a 100mph range.  Tears streamed down her face as she raced through uncrowded highways.

She pulled into the parking lot of one of her favorite Los Angeles parks. The park was full of sculptures and murals. Bette could always come here to relax or to think. She exited the car and slammed the door and broke out into a run across the parking lot and into the park. She ran as fast as she could until she came to her utmost favorite sculpture. There was nothing particularly special about this piece, but she had loved it ever since she had come to L.A. It was probably the oldest piece on the grounds.

Bette stood in front of the sculpture and screamed at the top of her lungs and then fell to her knees.  She pounded at the ground in anger.  Time passed slowly and she moved so that she was leaning back against a flat edge of the sculpture. She brought her knees to her chest and let her head fall into her folded arms as she cried.

"I thought I’d find you here."

Bette looked up at the sound of the familiar voice. Kit could see the steam of tears flowing freely from Bette’s chocolate eyes.

"How did you know where I was?"

"Baby girl, you always used to come here…Just because I was absent during a period of time doesn’t mean i’m not observant."

    ‘Where’s Angie?" Bette asked curiously.

"Helena is with baby girl. Shane saw you driving like a bat out of hell and called me worried. She’s going to the hotel to check on Tina." Kit paused for several seconds.  "What happened Bette?"

Bette’s head fell back into her folded arms as Kit sat down next to her and wrapped her arm around her sister and let her cry.

    1. OMG!! Just read the last two posted chapters. I know Tina was feelign guilt about her past, but that was not the way to tell Bette. I am just glad Shane saw he leave and called Kit. I had surgery to remove my uterus due to fibroids-that according to the doctor weighed 4lbs, I am coming along though.

    2. All thanks to Kit Porter, Bette needed that scolding. But I believe she needed the air to breathe as well. Its not easy news and its better she cleared her mind than to blurt something she’ll regret right then and there. Great chapter. They’ll make it through, right? Haha.

    3. Ok i read a comment and I tried to write personally, but couldn’t figure out how to do it. However, I want to clear something up…and i may also do this with the next post – Dainty, if you feel like i have offended you, please personal message me. I do not like dirty laundry laid out for everyone to see. And i never meant to be offensive because in truth, my girlfriend is half african american and she tells me to get my “translucent (or sometimes she says albino or pale) black ass [here]”. Its not meant to be offensive, I just have been in an environment where this is what i have witnessed on more than one occasion with more than one party… Next time, please personal message me. Again, I do not like “dirty laundry” aired in public and i can apologize to you personally and explain my reasonings behind the terminology I use. It would be the same thing as saying “Get your white ass over here”… which for some reason is FINE to be said among Caucasians…and no one gets offended…

    4. A case of those that live in glass houses shouldn’t throw stones. Bette shouldn’t be so hypocritical.Tina may have been abused by her sister. She may have found in difficult to deny her sister b/c of the age difference.

    5. It’s good that Shane saw Bette speeding and called Kit so she could find Bette and talk to her and also that she went to check on Tina that needs comforting as well. Granted, Tina should have told her that her sister molested her rather than the way she told her the info. Now, one more thing I have to say about this chapter. I am completely offended by the phrase “black ass and black behind” used to describe Bette in this chapter, and offensive to JB herself. I thought it was a bit racial and completely unnecessary. Maybe not your intention but that is how it came across. Thanks for posting.
