My Savior- Chapter 23
This was the same dock that Shane had lost her brother. She sat in the car with Carmen next to her.
Carmen: It’s time.
Flashback
These 48 hours passed like lightning. They went home and sat there on the couch. Carmen stroked Shane’s hair.
Carmen: What are you thinking about?
Shane: That I’m stupid saying yes to such a crazy plan.
Carmen: Babe, you’re not stupid. Granted you’re not that bright.
Carmen joked with her. Shane pulled Carmen on top of her and kissed her nose. Then moved to her lips. Carmen’s hands were blocking Shane. Shane pulled her closer.
Carmen: No no no. You have to be rested. No more Shane.
Shane was nipping at Carmen’s neck. Carmen had to cover Shane’s mouth to stop her.
Carmen: Shane! No more.
Shane: This isn’t fair.
Carmen wrapped her arms around Shane restraining her. She whispered in her ears.
Carmen: After this, I think our long overdue wedding should take place, don’t you think?
Shane smiled.
Carmen: Like it?
Shane: Love it.
Carmen: You keep hands off and rest okay?
Shane: Fine.
Carmen snuggled into Shane.
Carmen: Good girl.
Shane chuckled.
End flashback
Carmen got out of the car and opened Shane’s door. She grabbed Shane’s hand pulling her out of the car.
Carmen: We’ll be fine.
Shane handed something cold to Carmen. She looked down seeing Shane’s gun.
Shane: It’s always kept me safe, I want it to keep you save too.
Carmen saw the determination in her eyes and didn’t argue with Shane.
Carmen: Since I have your gun, I’ll protect you.
She tucked the gun in her waistband and covered it with her t-shirt. Hand in hand, they walked towards the warehouse.
Shane: When I tell you to shoot, you shoot.
Carmen nodded.
Shane: Don’t hesitate.
They climbed the rusty stairs. With each step, they could hear the clang resounding on the walls. Shane got onto the roof then turned around to help Carmen onto the roof. They walked towards the figure standing there with a table in front. Shane’s hand tightened around Carmen’s.
