    “The rush of adrenaline and anxious anticipation kept me on my toes”; As Helena awaits the first letter from Bette, Alice shares some exciting news.

    I shook my head, “I wish I knew…but I am excited. I don’t know how to explain it…but it’s like…she’s still around…she’s still talking to me, she’s still doing things with me,” I burst out laughing, “I must sound like an idiot, but I’ve missed her so much that…”

     

    “We know, Hels,” Alice replied, “We know you miss her. We miss her too.”

     

    “She must have put in a lot of effort into this,” Tina added, “Now that’s love.”

     

    “It’s like something out of a movie.”

     

    I smiled, “I’ll definitely let you know when the first letter arrives.”

    I liked having something to look forward to; rushing home as month end drew near to check my mailbox. The rush of adrenaline and anxious anticipation kept me on my toes.

     

    I carried the iPod with Bette’s voice recording around with me; it was like an anecdote for those especially lonely, depressing days. Just the sound of her voice brought an easy smile to my face. There was never a day that I didn’t miss her.

     

    Business at Dragonfly had been particularly busy and with our new branch recently opened at the other end of town, Alice and I were exceptionally busy. We were thankful to have Carmen and Lara manning the other outlet.

     

    “Ok, what else do we have planned for the rest of the month?” I asked Alice as I flipped through our order book, “I believe from last I checked, we have another two weddings to cater this week; one on Friday and one on Sunday. Oh, and we also have that Bauer birthday bash on Wednesday…”

     

    I heard Alice giggle and I looked up to find her grinning widely at her mobile phone. Ignoring her, I continued, “So that means we have three cakes to make this week. On Lara’s end, she’s told me that…”

     

    Alice let out another giggle, one that I could not ignore, “Al? Is something up?”

     

    She laughed again.

     

    “Alice?” I asked, my voice raised slightly.

     

    Alice looked up at me, realizing that I was talking to her, “Oh, sorry Hels. I was listening…I was!”

     

    “Really?” I asked, “What did I say?”

Hey there cousin, my Uncle was a cool man;) Well I am glad that Helena was finally working and that business was thriving, she was living for a reason her daughter, buss,friends and for Bette’s letters and surprises. So glad that Al mentioned Tina, she really has helped Helena and Becky and find it perfect. Really enjoyed this chapter cousin,,,,,,

    5. Well this is progressing nicely… Tina sounded a bit reluctant so maybe she’s not feeling as strongly toward Helena as I thought. The sun and winds of Bali will weave their magic on these two I predict… More soon, Euni! :>)

    7. Loved the update E…and of course you can abbreviate my sign on…it is lenghthy, eh (LOL). I would like an H and Tasha story…something about a pairing with Tina wouldn’t feel right…I can understand how it would happen…but it doesn’t feel right!!! As usual loved it MORE please!!!

    8. Bette is such a romantic to even think about stuff like that while being sick. So Tina is going to join them huh, does this mean you are going to introduce us to some Heletina or will it be too soon and we might end up with some Heletash (geez that doesn’t even sound right LOL)
