Chapter Twenty-Three

“I’ve been deciding if I want to quit my job..”

“Quit working at the gallery?”

“If thats what it takes, yeah..why not? I love Tina way more then an art gallery, I use to be that work absorbed person but I’m not anymore, I’m not a lot of things anymore and the main one is unfaithful.”

Bette’s cell phone can be heard from a distance.

“One second Kit.” Bette says standing from her chair and hiding towards her bedroom to grab her phone quickly from the nightstand but first she glances at the caller ID.

“James, hey”

“Hey Bette, there are a few papers that need to be signed right away, you think you can make it in today?”
“Um, yeah. Is Kelly back?”

“I was just about to mention that. I heard from Kelly’s assistant that she should be in today.”

“About time she get her ass back here.” Bette says sighing into the phone.

“Is there something wrong Bette?”

“Its nothing James, thanks for the concern, I’ll be there in the next hour.”

“See you then.”

Bette clicks the phone off and runs her hands through her hair.

I have to try not to grab that bitch by her throat, when that’s all i’ve been wanting to do for so long now. Bette’s mind speaks to itself.

Bette then exits the room and makes her way through the kitchen to see Kit throwing her handbag over her shoulder.

“Who was that baby sis?”

“It was James, I have to go into work and guess who’s going to be showing up.”

“Ms Wentworth.”

“Correct.”

“So what are you going to do?”

“Try not to end up in prison for the rest of my life.”

“I have to get back to the Planet, I’ll see you later and good luck.”

Bette nods her head then sits herself back down on her chair to finish her plate of food.

“See you in a few hours baby!” Tina says blowing kisses to Angie who is standing beside Helena and Dylan in the door way of their home.

“I’ll call you when she’s ready to come home.” Helena says to Tina who is half way down the steps.

“Yeah, just ring me. Thanks for watching her Helena.”
