    Out of Closet (B&T time-travel romance), Ch. 20

    Chapter 20: Looking, listening, talking…and touching (Alice tells Bette the truth and Bette and Tina finally meet face to face)

    (Previously) Bette kept hugging Alicia as if her life depended on it, “Alicia, I’m so happy you are here…I was so scared, what’s going on? I keep having this nightmare…”

    Alice interrupted her by whispering softly in her ear, “We need to talk but can you hold on a minute? I need to do something first.”

    She disengaged herself from Bette, which was really difficult, considering that Bette wasn’t about to lose the only grip on reality that Alice represented at this moment.

    Finally convincing her frightened friend that it was okay to let her go for a minute, Alice stepped back to Tina and shielded her from Bette’s curious eyes, “Leave us alone for a minute because we can’t risk her fainting again but you can watch through the open window,” she whispered, winking at Tina at the same time.

    “Bette,” Alice said louder after Tina left the room, “I’m going to open the window. It’s too stuffy in here.”

    Bette wiped away her tears and asked fearfully, “Alicia, what’s going on? Everything looks so different and strange. Have I died and gone to hell?”

    ~~~~~~~~
    Place: Porter mansion – Bette’s bedroom
    Year: 2005
    Alice chuckled softly at Bette’s question and gave her another hug, “No Bette, you haven’t died and gone to hell because it would mean I’m in hell too. And while I don’t mind that particular location since all the important people are there, I think it’s a little too early and too hot for either of us to be there.”
    “Alicia, I don’t find your sense of humor very amusing right now,” Bette said indignantly, “What is going on? Where are we?”
    “Sorry, Bette, my sense of humor is the only thing that helps me when I’m stressed, nervous, confused or happy…well, that and some tequila…” Alice grinned but seeing another scolding look on Bette’s face, she sighed and said apologetically, “Sorry, okay, I just can’t help myself. So what do you want to know?”
    “Well, I keep having a really strange but lucid dream about being in this strange world that has all kinds of different innovations that I have never seen before…and I also keep seeing Christina everywhere. Honestly, even now I don’t know if I am dreaming or wide awake,” Bette slowly got off the bed and walked towards the open window.
    1. Oh B&TF, you can’t be serious…you’re not leaving us like this???? I’ll never be able to wait for the next update! Absolutely fabulous update B&TF…you are really nailing this story. I can’t wait for their continued conversation.
    2. Oh god… Here we go. They are indeed in so much trouble! LMAO at Alice’s silliness and at Bette’s boldness when she’s just met Tina. I love how Bette proceeds everything, and at this point, it looks like her brain is gonna fry in no time. And I don’t know if it will be out of trying to process things or just because of Tina’s effect on her… Hmm, I think I have the answer to that. This was great, B&TF, and somehow, I’m not that surprised that Bette took the news so calmly. For one, she really trusts Alice (much more than if she’d lived in our century, LOL!). And second, it seems that because of her numerous readings and her father’s education, she’s become a very curious and open-minded woman. Anyway, this went pretty great and I’m looking forward to seeing where this is all going between Bette and Tina. Their connection already seems different than the one she had with Christina, and it makes sense that she discovered her attraction to a woman (and not any woman) with Christina, and then falls in love with 21st century’s Tina… Okay, i’ll shut up now. Thanks for the update, and I’ll only forgive you for delaying the next chapter if it means that your next post will be the secret agents one… ;) K.
    3. I am soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo excited about the coming chapters, Hee hee hheee, Thank you so much, but T you can’t stop now when you are where we wanted you to be from a long time ago. Come back soon, don’t leave us like that hanging please T. Love
