Out of Closet (B&T time-travel romance), Ch. 46

She paused and looked at Bette who was silent but her smile was telling Tina that it was okay. Tina sighed again and smiled, “But you know what I like about coming home from work?”

“Me…naked…waiting in bed for you?” Bette chuckled, remembering how on several occasions she surprised Tina by meeting her in the bedroom, lying in a provocative pose on the top of the covers.

“That too,” Tina laughed, “But mostly I like it because the minute I walk into the door, no matter what my mood is…as soon as you put your arms around me, all my anger, frustration and exhaustion are gone. That’s why I love to come home so I can have that hug…it makes me feel loved and wanted,” Tina sighed, “I’m so selfish.”

“Yes, you are,” Bette laughed and gave Tina a hug, whispering into her ear, “I love waiting for you at home and knowing that you’re coming back to me…you make my life complete, you know…Happy Valentine’s Day, baby.”

Tina moved the tray away from her lap and pulled Bette on top of her. “I wish we could stay home today and spent all day in bed but I have to go to work and so are you,” she said between the kisses, “But tonight you are all mine…my Valentine.”

“So Bette, how did you celebrate Valentine’s Day before?” Tina asked curiously when they finished their breakfast and were ready to go to work. She tried to think of a way to make tonight memorable for the both of them.

“I’ve never really done anything…I never had a sweetheart long enough…well, except for Christina I never really had a sweetheart. But when my sister Katie began dating David, he did some things for her…he was such a romantic at heart. Last year…” Bette paused, noticing the confusion on Tina’s face. “I mean, last year in my time, in 1885…on February 14 he was wearing a huge heart on his sleeve with Katie’s name on it and hour after hour the servants were bringing flowers into the house and placing them in Katie’s room…all day long. And then he invited her to dinner…she was so happy and so in love.”

    1. I’m so sorry that you’ve been sick. You must rest up and conserve your energy because you have a big trip in two months. But writing stories won’t use up any of your energy, so it’ll be OK if you keep posting. Thank you for such a sweet chapter. I’m so happy that Bette is feeling more and more secure in the modern world. As for the new stories, please take good notes as they swirl around in your head so you that they don’t disappear into the ether. Learn from my mistakes. :-) Looking forward to your next chapter.

    2. Whoa B&TF…I hope you’re feeling a bit better now. Excellent update…this was my kind of Valentine’s day! You keep writing and we’ll keep reading.
