    The space between S1 & S2. The weekend’s over, is it time to talk?

     

    The weekend had been a failure on all counts. Tina had not managed to find Shane, succeeding only in leaving increasingly worried messages on her voicemail. That was more than Bette had managed to leave Tina. Despite Alice‘s reassurances that she would call, it was apparent that the weekend was not the time.

     

    Sunday was the worst though. As much as Friday had always been Family Night, Sunday had always been the time Bette and Tina spent alone together. Tina had sat in almost every corner of Alice‘s one bedroom apartment, read every magazine, and dusted and polished every surface.

     

    Alice hadn’t known what to do as every suggestion was rejected. She just sat and tried to write and not think about Dana as her hopefully temporary house guest did everything to fill her mind. At least the apartment would be spotless and dinner was going to be amazing judging from the smells coming out of the kitchen.

     

    Under any other circumstances Alice would be happy Tina was staying, it had been so long since Alice had shared her home with anyone. Well, anyone she actually wanted there, her mother definitely did not fall into that category.

     

    If things were as they should be though she would have spent the weekend trying to figure what had happened between herself and Dana. Her gratitude at having Tina there was for more than just having a clean apartment. Tina was just as much a distraction for Alice as the cleaning was for Tina.

     

    So that was how they had spent their weekend. Both of them busying themselves with tasks that didn’t need to be completed hoping that it would fill their minds and push out the respective women that dominated all of their thoughts.

     

    ‘I’m going to go into the Centre later. Oscar wants me to help him with some grant proposals.’ Tina said in reply to Alice‘s question. That was something, at least she was venturing outside, which meant that Alice could escape the confines of the apartment too. ‘You wanna go to The Planet for breakfast?’ Alice hoped for a yes, ‘Maybe Shane will be there.’ Tagging on the last part as an added incentive.

    4. excellent update! poor tina, she really misses bette. that dream of hers was intense. i hope shane isn’t out of the picture for too long. alice is too funny :). who is at the CAC (candace or tina)?
