Alice Swirls in the Open Atlantic

MIAMI – Hurricane Alice was steaming over the open Atlantic early Sunday and forecasters still predict that it will move up the coastline safely staying out to sea.

Alice had maximum sustained winds near 95 mph after strengthening Wednesday. Forecasters at the National Hurricane Center said it could strengthen into a hurricane level 2, with winds of at least 100 mph, as early as Tuesday.

At 5 a.m. EDT, the storm was centered 660 miles east-northeast of the Northern Leeward Islands, about 1,105 miles southeast of Bermuda. It was moving west-northwest near 10 mph.

It posed no immediate threat to land, though its large size – tropical storm force winds extended 290 miles from its center – could be a concern later in the week.

"The concern would be Bermuda at this point, how close the destructive force winds will move toward it," said Bopper Carver, a Navy forecaster at the hurricane center.

Alice developed in the peak of hurricane season in warm Atlantic waters, the source of energy for storm development this time of year. While warm enough to spur storm intensification, forecasters said those waters are not as warm as last year’s storm season.

Last year’s Atlantic storm season set a record with 28 named storms and 15 hurricanes, including Simon, which devastated the Southern Florida coast.

The 2013 Atlantic hurricane season has not been as rough as initially feared.  The National Hurricane Center lowered its Atlantic storm forecast in August to between 12 and 15 named storms and seven to nine hurricanes.  Forecaster Brittian Grey downgraded his expectations for the season Friday to 13 named storms and five hurricanes, which would be a slightly below-average season.

Tina woke to the feeling of Bette clinging to her.  Sometime in the middle of the night’s emotional homecoming, Bette had opened up to show Tina just how grateful she was to again be back in Tina’s bosom.  In the most intimate of ways Bette bared her soul allowing Tina to know her like never before.  It was everything Tina needed to hear but more importantly feel.  Tina could feel Bette’s every heartbeat.  With each beat Tina knew … knew in her soul that she had been right about letting Bette back into her heart.  This was a feeling that was empowering to Tina.  She was right to believe in the two of them again.

    1. happy that our girls are back together, loving each other to pieces. please don’t tell me the damned hurricane is going to rip through Angel’s art camp? dear God, keep her and all the little ones safe and sound. get them the hell on a plane and out of there quickly. pretty please.

    2. Yeah, Alice is a blowhard, take your pick as to which one. Let’s hope the storm is less destructive to both Bermuda and the Carolina coast than the two-legged one is to poor Rachael. She did have a point though, if you haven’t made a move in 5 years, you really can’t be surprised that the action is elsewhere.

    3. i hope the hurricane won’t hurt angels’ camp, but i’m afraid it might be the case since you keep bringing it in…well, at least B&T are together at last

    4. OMG I’m so slow. I had to go back to figure out who Rachael is. So anyway B&T are finally together under one roof. WEEEEEEEE! Such a sweet scene with all the “I love yous” and whatnot. *happy sigh* The hurricane Alice stuff still has me a bit lost. =/

    5. Jwet…great s/l as usual. You have a gift, girl. You must watch a lot of The Weather Channel, lol. Your descriptions seem so real, detailed and authentic. I hope that you keep all the little chickadees safe and secure.

    6. I see hurricane Alice is whipping around on both fronts…Shane can calm down one but please don’t let the other one hurt Angelica or anyone. I am glad Bette and Tina are back together please keep them that way.

    7. So both Angie and Bette get their wish to be a family with mommy Tina. Those hurricanes are nothing to play with. Hopefully Alice the hurricane will not cause problems to Bette, Tina and Angelica.

    8. Thanks for the post, it cleared up my questions. I loved how happy Angel sounded about Bette moving in with them. Post soon please….and yes Alice is soooo annoying sometimes.

    9. Hey JWet, Every time I see that there is a new post from you I do my little happy dance and grin from ear to ear. I do get some strange looks from my work colleagues. Hee, hee, hee. SO back to the matter at hand. Another wonderful continuation of this most pleasant and entertaining story. It just makes my heart swell to read how much Bette and Tina have changed to make this relationship work. Their love for one another knows no bounds as their desires to protect and adore their daughter are limitless. Yes, my heart skipped a beat as they repeated opened up and admitted “I love you”. This communication was palpable and damn right adorable as they talked to their daugther; trying to let her know that their partnership had resumed. It is the naturalness of these conversations that make this tale a real delight. Thank you so much for all the hard work and effort this chapters require and be aware of how much they are adored by your readers. Complete admiration and gratitude from Your Loyal Fan.

    10. I think the site has messed your post up – there is a section missing on page 1 – it should come before the sentence… Later that day. I’m sure it seems there is something missing, apart from that – great! LOL

    11. Happy to see a new chapter and find it filled with warm and fuzzy moments between B&T. I’m getting a mental image of Angel clinging to that bronze sculpture as the wind whips around her – not pretty. What’s next??

    12. Thanks for another fine chapter. I love your grown up Bette and Tina and their honesty with one another. Don’t let either Alice do too much damage. Take care of yourself.
