    See What a Fool I’ve Been – Part 15

    PART 15

    Day 50 after the accident – McCutcheon/Morales’ house – h. 7.08 p.m.

“Baby, could you please hand me a dipper?” I ask, glancing at Shane.
She rests her chest against my back and puts the cookware in the mixing bowl.
I feel her teeth gently bite my neck.
“No touching while I’m cooking…” I raise an eyebrow and smile, watching this dough I’m so proud of.
“Why not?”, Shane chuckles, her lips against my hair.
“Because…” I state slowly, amused, “We risk not to be ready when our guests arrive”.
“I am totally ready”, she answers.
I turn around and grab her black tie, pulling her towards my lips for a kiss.
“But I am not. I have to put the dough in the oven so we can have our supercool homemade bread, then I need a shower, then I need my time to dress”.
I turn back to the counter.
“Are you sure you want them to come?” she asks.
“I mean, you look so tired these days…”.
    I laugh.
“I look tired because there’s someone, in this house, who constantly makes indecent proposals to me”.
“Indecent proposals that you gladly accept”, she points out pleased.
“Well, you are not to make any indecent proposal now” I say back.
Shane kisses my neck once again and moves a step back.
    “As you wish, ma’am”.

“Aren’t you happy to see our friends?” I ask, putting the dough in the oven and then looking at her.
“Of course I am… am I not?” she answers with a disarming smile.
    I sigh and shrug.
“I don’t know. You have those melancholic moments of yours when you look so distant, so detached from everything and everyone…”.
Shane frowns and walks towards me.
“Honey, I don’t have any problems at all, really…”.
    She embraces and cuddles me.
“I mean, beside the fact that I am worried for you, for your health…”.
“If you’re talking about my mental health, you don’t really have to be worried…”. I joke, resting my cheek on her shoulder.
She chuckles. Her voice passing through her chest tickles me.
“I know” she agrees, “I know that you’re slowly starting to take your memories back…”.
Her voice sounds a little sad, a little doleful. Worried, maybe.
But it’s just a sensation, just a feeling. I’m overwhelmed by feelings these days. I just don’t want to turn them into a big deal anymore. After all, Tasha and Alice reassured me: there’s nothing to worry about.
“Is this not good?” I murmur anyway, kissing her neck.
    “It’s wonderful”, she replies gently.
“Now go, have your shower. I’m gonna clean up the kitchen and set the table”.
Shane pats my ass seductively, clears her voice and moves a step back.
