Sequel to Christmas Eve…Ch. 15 – Christmas Day
BAM!!! Tina jolted awake as a loud crash thundered through the apartment. Looking around through bleary sleep muddled eyes she noticed an adorable 4 year old standing in the middle of the bedwhich was lacking Bette. Wey giggled through his hand and pointed to the floor. When Tina realized what had happened, she bit her lip to stifle her own laugh. Baby? Bette? Are you okay? Grumbling she saw her wifes head peak above the mattress and give the evil eyes to the boy that had knocked her off the bed. Oh Im find Tinabut you better grab your son before I tickle him into oblivion. Bette leapt up onto the bed and lunged for Wey, who still having a little girl squeal, screamed and jumped into Tinas arms. The three of them stayed on the bed wrestling through, on top of, and under the blankets until they were thoroughly tangled and out of breath. Wey, who had his little feet wrapped in the sheets suddenly remembered why hed woken up his two mommies so excitedly and so early in the morning. ITS CHRISTMAS!!!!! He yelled at the top of his lungs while Tina and Bette laughed at the realization that had washed over the childs face. Making quick work of the blankets hed been wrapped in, he again jumped into a standing position on the bed and reached for his parents hands. Come on.lets open presents!!!! Pweeetttyy Pwease!!! Tina and Bette looked at each other and nodded. Okay kiddo, come on, lets see what Santa brought. Bette said while getting off the bed. The Human Blur known as Weylend Porter tore off faster than the speed of light into the living room while Tina and Bette shuffled their way tiredly leaning against each other. As soon as they reached the couch Bette collapsed while Tina made coffee and hit play on the stereo letting some light Christmas music float through the rooms. As soon as the coffee was done Tina walked back to the room yawning with two cups of steaming caffeine. Babe you do know its still dark out right? Sipping lightly Bette nodded. Hes done this since he could walk and realize that he gets presents on this day. I find it best to let him open the presents, and pass out afterwards. Tina shook her head and scooted onto the floor in front of the tree and a extremely energetic Wey. Can I open them now? Huh? Now? Can I? Yea, yeah, go for it. Bette waved. Before she even finished the second yeah her son had a present in his hand and was tearing away the paper furiously, Tina caught the green and red paper as it came flying her way. Present after present was unwrapped, looked at, and the pushed to the side for further inspection later in the day. Bette watched with a happy twinkle behind her dark gaze as her soul mate and their precious little boy sat at the tree giggling and playing with the toys. She thanked God then, like she had so many times since coming home, that she was given the courage and strength to be who she was for Tina and Wey. Not even an hour after their rude wake up call, Wey was fast asleep in a flood of overlooked wrapping paper and toys. The sun was just peaking out from its slumber and from behind grey snow clouds while Bette and Tina enjoyed a peaceful morning on the couch just like they had the night before, watching the glow of the tree lights. Mmm, I think I should put him in his bed. Tina mumbled into Bettes chest. Running her fingers through the blonde waves on her lovers head Bette agreed, Okay, Ill meet you back in the bedroom. Finally succeeding in getting off the couch, Tina scooped up the small frame of her son and was rewarded with a smack on the back from the remote control truck the boy had in a death grip. As she placed him lightly beneath the covers she tried to pry the toy from his tiny fingers, but he wouldnt give it up. Relenting she kissed him on his fingers and slipped the truck beneath the covers with him, before slipping out and shutting the door quietly. Five hours later Tina was up again, fully showered and dressed in her Christmas best while starting the preparations on the holiday feast she had planned. Okay so it was only the three of them but it was always nice to have leftovers for the days after. So smiling and singing to herself she danced around the kitchen. She stopped when she heard a door open and the whizzing sound of a brand new toy, moments later there was a monster struck speeding and skidding on the tiled floor and running into things. She could just picture Wey smirking behind the door frame at his little game. Quickly she snapped up the toy and let the wheels spin furiously as the toy dangled in mid air. One second she was grinning and the next her face was a mask of shock as Bette walked into the kitchen grinning with the remote to the car in her hand. You just think youre so cute dont you Porter? Bette revved the toy engine and wiggled her eyebrows, Oh but I am Leaning into her wife Bette kissed her fully on the lips and wrapped her up in her arms. Things were getting a little to heated when Wey walked through the door. Ewwwww, Grossss!!! Tina smiled and swung Wey into her arms while mocking him gently, Ewww Gross!!! Mommy! Kissing her little boy in the cheek she asked him what he wanted for breakfast. MMM, Lucky Charms pwease. Bette grabbed him from Tina and stuck him in a chair while Tina grabbed a bowl of cereal for him. Here ya go sweetie. Thanks mommy. Geez Tee, this turkey is almost the size of Wey! What are we going to do with so much food? Babe, left overs Tina looked at her with a duh face. Right, how could I be so turkey etiquette challenged. I must have grown up in the dark ages!! Oh the horror! She laughed, pulling a hand to her forehead. After Wey was finished his breakfast it was bath time, and after that he made Bette put batteries in all his toys, and the ones that required putting together were assembled. The two of them sat there playing through the remainder of the afternoon until the buzzer sounded in the apartment. Bette and Tina met at the door giving each other a strange look. Yes? Tina asked holding in the intercom. Package for auhh, Bette Porter? Uhmm, sure, cant you just leave it there? Who the ***** delivers packages on Christmas morning? Bette stage whispered to Tina who shrugged. No maam we need a signature. Umm okay then, come on up. The two women stood there wondering who the ***** had sent them a package until there was a knock on the door. Giving Tina one last wary glance, Bette pulled the door open. MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!!!! A giddy group of friends met them with smiles and present filled arms. Alice, Dana, Shane, and Kit pushed their way through the door and gave Tina their happy hugs and kisses. What are you guys doing here? She asked. Well, what the ***** is celebrating Christmas without the Portards! Alice smiled. Tinas making enough food to feed an army, so that covers you Al, but I dont know about the rest of you Bette said poking fun at her friend. Listen here Porter, I didnt eat that whole turkey, it was the friggin hamster, those things are like rats, I dont even know what I was thinkinganimals and me do not mix. Okay okay, Tina broke in, Can we not have you two annoying the ***** out of one another for just a day. Shooing them all into the living room Wey came tearing through his bedroom door and seeing all of his aunts standing there yelled, MERRY CHRISTMAS AUNTIES!!!! Three hours later after the newly arrived presents were opened and dinner was served, the entire family settled in front of the television to watch an array of different Christmas movies. Alice and Dana snuggled on the floor surrounded by blankets and pillows, Shane sprawled out on one chair, Kit on another, and Bette, Tina, and Wey huddled together surrounded by their family.
